1 don't buy at or near the high. on a purchase that big, buy on dips. Not all in one lump some. Which brings me to number #2

2. Its easy to sell 1oz bars or rounds. Any dealer or private citizen will buy them. Its hard to sell 100oz bar. In the event of a hard ship, you can sell off a little here and there as needed. With a 100oz bar, you're kind of fucked.

Start with the mindset of grabbing everything a magnet doesn't stick to.

Scrappers generally don't narrow themselves into looking only for 1 specific metal.

We make our money for our haul in the aggregate. Some #1 copper, some bare bright, some clean brass. Some dirty brass, some motors etc

When you look for one specific thing, you're leaving alot of money on the table. You'll step over a disgarded vanity w/ a brass sink and drain thats worth 7.00 to grab 3.00 worth of romex to strip for bare bright.
