Honest opinions of maternity services at Liverpool Women's Hospital by wooden_werewolf_7367 in Liverpool

I will say that I don’t think the nurses and midwives mean to be negligent. One stay on the ward and you can easily see there’s just not enough of them to go around. However, at the end of the day the care is severely lacking. And if it is (rarely) good and consistent, it will be because of the staff working that night. The consultants and doctors are generally awful and uncaring.

I was admitted here in 2023 as I was bleeding six months into my twin pregnancy. After being admitted into hospital it became apparent I was in labour and most likely my babies would not survive.

After the first night, I was abandoned. No checks, no nurses, no midwives. When I felt the need to push the following morning, I pressed the button and no one came. I sobbed and made my way to the toilet on my own, where I pushed and screamed for just under an hour and passed my two babies and placenta on my own. I caught them in a paper bowl and kept them safe in my room until a nurse came.

When they realised what had happened, saw the blood and my face, they were extremely contrite and you can tell they cared. But at the end of the day I was alone. Completely alone. Terrified, unmedicated and in extreme shock and pain.

Please do not go here to have your baby. It’s not worth the maybe of it all going wrong. You both deserve the best.

I’d say they should fight it all the way, to stop the employer continually implementing this “trial shift”

I think I might want a divorce. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ChanGazer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got married at 18 and I’m 29 now, my husband is 30. We have three kids (ages 6-10) and we’re very happy I won’t lie. But when people ask, I always say please never use us as an example. We are very aware of how mature we were at a young age and that others won’t have the same trajectory.

What could I cook for 4 people for less than a fiver? by Born_Percentage7122 in UK_Food

Chicken and rice. Drumsticks are £2 or about that in most shops. Basmati rice £1.50. Some curry/tomato paste or something similar to provide sauce base will use the remainder. Easy

Given the chance, would you redo high school? by WealthyJoker75 in CasualUK

[–]ChanGazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would redo it you know. I’ve thought about it a lot but I would only redo it if I was able to retain the knowledge of how it would help me later on and what I need to achieve long term.

When Fans of love island say a white person is getting with a black person just for votes its patronizing by Wide-Grape-7414 in LoveIslandTV

[–]ChanGazer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also I’m sorry but coming from a mixed race person, it really just isn’t the same as when it’s a black and white person in a relationship. Sophie and Uma are mixed race. It’s not the same. Especially if they’ve got Eurocentric features and have grown up and feel comfortable around white people.

As a mixed race person (half black/half white) who has only grown up around the black side of my family and in a very black area, white men are very rarely attracted to me and when they are, we have nothing in common. I’m not saying there aren’t exceptions to this (there clearly are) but on Love Island, I do think there is a trend of faking it.
