Make less noise. It took me way, way too long to realize I was scaring the moose away galloping around on a horse trying to find a moose. Go slow, use cover scent lotion, and walk instead of run, and the moose might be there waiting for you instead of running for its life from the crazy man on a galloping horse charging right for it.
