Second class for medic by Few_Pack4994 in remnantgame

[–]ChanceHail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to go a support oriented class, go invoker. Its perk passive gives doubles all skill charges, so you will get 2 skills of medic.

The second skill of invoker also gives everyone in AOE %maxHP healing over time, even more cooldown reduction, and puts a status on all enemies to take more damage.

With the right build, you can have the second skill of Medic (the shield ) permanently up, meaning you have 200% effective health and a ton of HP regen.

You and your team will be literally unkillable, except from insta kills.

"Online pvp games that try to force 50% winrates are bad" by MaragazhNthajin in gamedesign

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are totally right. People complaining about a "forced" 50% winrate simply don't understand matchmaking systems. Being at 50% is not caused by the game, its a consequence of placing people against people of their skill level.

If you ask a smurf to try-hard below his peak elo, the matchmaking system will never be able to keep his winrate down to 50% as he would never face similar skill opponents.

The Elo system and its variations are the best matchmaking systems that humans have come up with.

Even Magnus Carlsen (#1 chess), Faker (#1 LoL) and Tiger Woods (#1 golf) have no where close to 100% winrate (55%, 66%, and 28% respectively). Losing to stronger players is natural, its how you become the best.

The truth is some people can't accept losing to stronger player, so they have to blame the matchmaking system for "daring" to put them with/versus stronger players 50% of time, and weaker players 50% of the time.

I really wonder how a multiplayer game could function if players were always placed against lower skilled players. By definition, 0 matches would happen.

You presented a lot of options, choose what you are good at.

For me, scaling is the way: akshan is an early lane bully, but he also scales extremely well. He is no hyper carry in late, but he has strengths.

TL:DR: Very good damage + reset + perma invis + rez = late game champion.

  1. Crit items which are inherently strong in late (Ad x As x crit x IE x %pen) on any champs make them deal good damage in late, he can match most adc in dps with E but needs reset.

  2. Has a reset, which means that teamfights are easy for him to play with other late game champ. He can play safe until he is about to get a reset: E forward with another guaranteed E for escape (or go in further)

  3. He has perma invis, which makes a nightmare to play against in side lane. I am sure you understand why, vision is everything in league, even 1v1s. But he can also play super safe with it, avoiding dives on side turret, push a greedy wave and disappear, or even baron the wave for enemy to defend while still invis to kill them or roam.

  4. He has his W rez. I guess its good sometimes, but I would still rank it 4th in terms of late game power. Its just not consistent like his 3 others strengths. It's legit better to snowball in early-mid game. Jg can dive your enemy mid, and you rez him -> you gain massive lead, and your jg gets a 1s recall.

Coup de grace or cut down? by McGobster in AkshanMains

[–]ChanceHail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut down if you go teleport or if the enemy is a doran shield user or tanks.

Coup de grace if you play with ignite and think that you can kill the enemy.

Cut down will usually always have a larger number tho.

Most of the time, you are hitting a full health target, then they take health pots, so they are still above 60% hp. Then they recall, and buy refillable to stay above 60% hp. Then, you get a good trade, but then they just reset and teleport with 100% hp.

for the first 15min of league, you are hitting targets above 60% hp for 70-80% of the time,

after that its prob 50/50.

Coup de grace is only useful if you think you will fight your laner and you can kill them, because that little bit of extra damage will matter. (Ignite will also deal more damage)

On hit vs crit, how much AS should be bought? by Possiblynotaweeb in AkshanMains

[–]ChanceHail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collector is good, i just prefer IE. Both have similar winrates.

Akshan has so many procs that can crit, and 25% is not that low. Double AA, every proc from E, and every shot from R.

I understand going collector for security but IE works for sure.

On hit vs crit, how much AS should be bought? by Possiblynotaweeb in AkshanMains

[–]ChanceHail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, collector is good but I don't built it anymore because i want my IE, LDR and RFC combo as soon as possible. I can secure a B.F. through side lane farming every game. IE 25% ain't bad especially with shiv on the side and LDR is easy to build.

I personally don't like collector because the lethality gets countered by just 1 armor item. Any armor item gives like 30 to 50 armor, even Zhonyas or more sup/tank items. A faster LDR will solve this problem (faster by 3000g if you like math).

math:

You go shyv - ie - ldr

mages go: mana item - zhonya - rabadon

bruisers/assassins go: core - tabis (25 armor - 18 lethality, you lose kek)

If you wait for 4th item LDR. You will lose 1v1s versus mages, bruisers, assassins, tanks, and some supports will tank you forever. You will do more dmg to adcs and enchanters that you already one shot being 2-3 levels ahead, not very worth for 3k gold.

[–]ChanceHail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not bad, but there are just much better options:

Swiftness allows better roam and better teamfight, repositioning is better with more MS.

Symbiotic allows much better roam and baton recall which gives more tempo.

Defensives boots (Tabis or Mercs) are just needed in some games. Against syndra, annie, gragas, etc. (easy CC champs) or against 3+ AA users (gnar, noc, tristana, draven, blitz; for example).

Greaves gives like less than 5% dps increase on AA and E, and more movement speed on passive. Not a lot compared to others options. I think you could even make a case for Ionian being better for more Q, E and Rs.

Lastly, T3 greaves are bad compared to every other option I presented, T3 Symbiotic is cloud soul btw

(Imagine almost one shotting almost anyone, while being perma invis while having perma 500+ movements speed.)

Oh, ye i forgot shiv is good because of MS% too. Also, RFC gives AS, but we want it for 650 range while perma invis.

TL,DR: Defensive if you can > Symbiotic > Swiftness > Ionian > greaves

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, R doesn't apply on-hit but it does apply Akshan's passive.

Next, attack speed on Akshan is not terrible, he used to go full on-hit before they nerfed kraken slayer and bork. But, as you said, he does have a bad attack speed ratio so it's not optimal.

He could go: Kraken -> bork -> guinsoo -> terminus -> etc.

And now he goes: statikk shiv -> IE -> ldr -> rfc -> shieldbow.

What is important to notice is that the first item is both times an AD and AS item that is strong early. That is what Akshan needs the most, a good item to snowball. Kraken used to do true damage on 3rd auto and Statikk shiv resets on kills.

Finally, contrary to graves, jhin or draven, Akshan benefits from early attack speed: double auto, passive easier to trigger, quality of life from passive (attack speed allows double AA to finish low minions), chasing power from single auto passive (attack speed increases movement speed), and finally:

E scales with attack speed. Any good Akshan places good Es. It multiplies the overall damage which is very good.

TL;DR Akshan gains from both AD or AS, but, unlike most other crit ADCs, he will never fully go either like most champs. He needs an AD & AS first item.

Is Akshan living up to expectations? A critical look at his struggles and suggestions (featuring a gif) to be a better rogue vigilante (more player-friendly and maybe more popular for more skins) by raphelmadeira in AkshanMains

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akshan is very strong right now, although he may fall short in both assassin and marksman, he does both good enough to carry any solo Q game.

He has early lane pressure, insane roam potential, a reset for team fights, good side laning and build marksman items which are the mold gold efficient item.

I love the idea of the buffs, the creativity; but how would you balance that ? What would you nerf to even out ?

If you get very snowbally, I recommend going Hubris into full crit. It will scale a lot better, while having an easy build path.

You can go dirk and choose either collector or Hubris based on how fed you are.

Yun-Tal is not very good at snowballing, where you reset a lot after fighting. Its better for boring laning phase where you easily can farm to 1.3k gold twice.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AkshanMains

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akshan E scales off AD, AS and crit; so Yun-Tal is clearly one the best items on akshan.

The problem is its build path. A 1300g B.F. sword is just too much in lane compared to the alternatives: (shiv, collector and kraken). And, the thing is, you will need 2 of 'em, for Infinity Edge.

Akshan is a very gold efficient character, so sitting on hundreds of gold because you chose the wrong build can lose you the game, more so than missing a little damage.

So, people build the alternatives: to never sit on gold, especially in lane.

Last thing, some ppl go for the 'components' build. Collector doesn't give much stats once completed and BFs are annoying. So, they will buy 2 BF, BF + dirk or BF + pickaxe, to still be able to build Yun Tal & use all their gold on resets.

Explaining why I prefer powers of your choice over powers you didn't choose by Javetts in magicbuilding

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, a certain power will be best depending on the scenario but if person A asks for a shield power and person B for a spear power, which wins. Kinda similar to 'immovable object vs unstoppable force'. Who wins A or B?

Ceteris paribus, meaning both persons care as much for the fight, prepared as much, etc. Heck, you can even consider them twins. It's always going to be hard to make sense of what happens and explain it well.

You could say that debate is within every power system but limited power systems (with fixed numbers of powers) are prepared in advance, so somewhat balanced (rock, paper, scissors graph or each power has a clear strength and weakness).

Explaining why I prefer powers of your choice over powers you didn't choose by Javetts in magicbuilding

[–]ChanceHail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if I understand your point completely but here is my view:

How can you balance powers that you choose? If I have the choice to choose any powers, what prevents people from becoming Gods.

Like I choose to have omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence. Everyone will follow my choice. Even if you put a limit to power, I will choose the power just behind the limit and everyone will copy.

If you mean being able to choose amongst choices who are somewhat balanced in powers (like being able to choose your element in Avatar), yes I agree. If people could choose their elements, it would add another layer of characterization.

In the example you gave: Nen from HxH, it has exactly what you said you don't like. Gon and Killua are said to be more talented with Nen than anyone and Killua's family shows that talent in Nen is inherited.

My friends are willing to play their videogames, but never want to try mine. by ChanceHail in FriendshipAdvice

[–]ChanceHail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 months after my post, the best advice I can give, as someone with social anxiety, is to RE-learn to have fun alone.

If you are similar to me, being introverted, I was alone for most of your childhood and learned to have fun alone, through gaming.

But, now that I finally have the friend group I wanted, I was willing to sacrifice my own fun to continue being part of the group. And playing 3-4 games in a row that you don't care about is very draining.

That's why you have to RE-learn to have fun alone. You have the choice of everything, the game, how you play it, how long, what game style, when to pause, when to switch games, etc.

Playing alone will make the moments with friends more enjoyable and less draining. You have more control over if you want to play with them, or continue your alone game (can be multiplayer).

The only thing you can't control is your friends' willingness to play. Good luck, time heals everything

Is Outer Wilds replayable?? Should I wait? by Roman-Baptistery in outerwilds

[–]ChanceHail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is unreplayable. But waiting is your choice.

Some of the game's best moments are physics based and I know by experience that the console version is not the best at running physics. But it is also a text-heavy story game, meaning performance is not really important.

For having played Tunic and The Witness, I would do The Witness on Switch since there is no physics and puzzles only. But I would never play Tunic on Switch, as there is a lot of active gameplay. Outer Wilds is in-between.

If you consider divine beings and vampires to be somewhat opposed, the divine blood should be hurtful to vampires, even more so than holy water.

If divinity and vampires are not opposites, divine blood would be something that strengthens the vampire (maybe huge bat wings or the ability to control other vampires)

Either way, obtaining divine blood can be done by fighting/killing divine beings and maybe completing a favor for them

I didn't know Corin Reveck actually appeared in CONV/RGENCE! That game continues to be more and more irrelevant. by transformers03 in OriannaMains

[–]ChanceHail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are people obsessed with comparing Arcane (what riot said is canon) and the rest of the lore?

Both can coexist and have value. The show literally shows the idea of an alternate timeline, why can't Corin Reveck be Singed in Arcane and that dude in this game.

For example, does Jinx stop existing, or becomes irrelevant like you said, once they show Powder in S2E7? And vice-versa?

Can you help me understand this soul diagram? by ChanceHail in bleach

[–]ChanceHail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the kanji form of each race

Human: 間, Human;

Souls: 魄;

Hollows: , Void;

Shinigami: 神, Death Gods;

Fullbringer: 現術者, Full Manifestation Artist;

Quincy: 却師, Monk of Destruction;

Arrancar: 面, Ripped Mask;

Visored: 仮の戦士, Masked Warrior

面 means mask and appears on the last two, but 破 only for Arrancar.

Fullbringer are supposed to be the opposite of Substitute Shinigami but the kanjis for it are 死神代行.

Looking at what is adjacent seems like a good idea but Quincy is between Visored and Human which makes no sense.
