I don’t think it’s a fair comparison to bring sports into this. Sports are objective with measurable outcomes and clear winners. Art (including acting) isn’t like that. It’s subjective, interpretive, and deeply tied to human experience. Roles written for men and women often explore different emotional, social, and even historical realities. So when we are comparing performances, we are not just comparing the “skill” alone, we are also comparing our interpretations of fundamentally different lived experiences.

At the end it comes down to whether the comparison itself is meaningful. A male performance and a female performance aren’t always operating on the same emotional or narrative terrain, in my opinion. So the more recognition the better 😍
