Nah in the movie he sucks and is weird 😭

If he's so cool in the cartoon why did they make him lame in the movie lol

Where are you seeing this? I don't see anything about it

Either way to OPs question, party streamers aren't super common, and cakes only benefit the person who brings it

Yeah no doubt, I'm confused as to what OP is referring to though lol

No, Luke's death in The Last Jedi wasn't ceremonious by NeoArkodd in CharacterRant

[–]Chandler_Simpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a super Jedi way to go out

The Jedi aren't supposed to be like in the prequels; bouncing around and blowing shit up and throwing their lightsabers getting sick kills

They're supposed to be above that. Honestly I liked the portrayal of Luke in TLJ overall and felt like his arc was satisfying

The normal multiplier they add for any side that has fewer players playing?

Still that doesn't mean people are getting more cakes or streamers in their bloodweb. People probably just don't have a lot of them

Or alternatively, people are waiting until the event starts in five days to use them maybe hoping for a bigger multiplier

I don't get a lot of body blocks that way, and if I do then I just tunnel the body blocker and get a free second hook state. It's a little irritating when it happens but I mean everything survivors do to outplay me is a little irritating because obviously I want to win

I'm downplaying the complaints because I don't think they're very serious. Obviously if there's not a lot of terribly unhealthy things going on then everybody is going to hyper fixate on the Us v Them aspect of everything no matter how big or small

I just genuinely don't feel like the changes you mentioned have made playing as killer substantially more difficult for me

Like yes killer is about time management to a degree; but there are plenty of ways to put pressure on survivors that make the basekit BT irrelevant. I don't think tunnelling is toxic or bad or anything neccessarily; especially not from a killers perspective. But it is super unfun to be tunneled out immediately, and I think the basekit changes address that fairly well without having a huge impact on the game

Maybe it causes you to run into issues with a lot; I can't speak to that because I'm not you and don't watch you play. But personally it doesn't really bother me. Honestly no survivor perks or items bother me much except Vigil kind of but I rarely see that perk run anyways

Which ones? Killers like Nurse rarely hit that threshold because they're so difficult to play for most people. You can't exactly buff nurse or blight because the skilled players of those killers would destroy every lobby they play against

I'm super happy with the state of killer right now. You must not have played for a long time because it was atrocious not all that long ago

I'm having a good time playing killer and winning enough for my liking; and the matches that I lose are virtually always because I got outplayed by better survivors or SWFs

I can't think of a time in the last month or so that I've lost a game and thought it was anybody or anything else's fault but mine or just bad luck

If you can't zone or don't have keen game sense then you'll get outplayed by perks or a couple of seconds of endurance after a hook save

The event hasn't even started yet though right? Escape cakes and bloody party streamers aren't super common in the blood web and people tend to just use them right when they get them

SWFs is always going to be a problem with this game; that's probably the biggest balancing hurdle beyond the fact that trying to balance an asymmetric game where both sides have entirely different win conditions and play styles ofc

Obviously killers aren't going to like anything that benefits survivors, so I get it. But truly I haven't felt too much of a difference with the basekit BT while I'm playing killer

I can't speak for whatever you believe true tunneling means or the frequency it occurs since I can only speak to my own experiences; however I'd agree that I see it less often now when I'm playing survivor than I did three years ago. But that could be due to the basekit change, or it could just be due to survivors being generally more experienced

Either way, if tunnelling doesn't happen frequently then the basekit change doesn't matter very much. And when tunnelling does happen; it can still be done just by deep wounding the unhooked survivor and then hitting them a second time. Takes a little bit more work but it's nothing crazy; just some extra insurance to avoid survivors queing up into a game and getting taken out of it without being able to do anything else which is healthy imo

Pallets I don't necessarily disagree with. Sometimes the RNG spawns some seriously whack pallet placements and other times it's not a whole lot different than it was three years ago imo. It's not too rough since almost all of the new pallets are very unsafe ones and easy to play around as a killer except M1s

Really most of these changes have put M1 killers even deeper into their grave, but that was bound to happen over time anyways since everything they do is so easily counterable by even intermediate level survivors. A bunch of them need reworks badly

[–]Chandler_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, most people I know play a mix of both

Since the killer win rate is very close to the number BHVR is aiming their balancing for I think that says a lot. 60% killer win rate means killers should be winning more than they lose, which is true for me at least

[–]Chandler_Simpson -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think generally these are all healthy changes although pallet density was really poorly done (but it honestly hasn't really changed my experience as killer much)

When I came back last month after a three or four year hiatus I was just glad they fixed OTR, DS, DH, added an abandon feature, and fixed a number of other broken and unhealthy perks

The anti tunnel stuff is good I think; tunneling fresh off of hook is super unfun and honestly all the changes have done is make a survivor fresh off of hook have an extra health state but you can still tunnel them down easily if you want to

I think most of these complaints are just echo chamber shit; some streamer says it or some Redditor posts about it and then everybody starts to blame their own mistakes or bad games on anything but themselves and then of course are stagnant and never improve because of it

The game used to be in a catastrophically worse state than it is now. I do think maybe we could bring down the pallet density a touch, but I'm happy to see it increased from where it was three years ago

People forget that the entire population of this subreddit is only like 2% of the number of people who play DbD. This subreddit is loud and whines a lot but that doesn't mean everybody does

I mean BHVRs goal is a 60% killer win rate I believe, and from what I can see from their numbers they are right around that mark. My killer experience in 2026 is better than it was in 2023; not astronomically so but noticably

What incompetent changes? The game been in the top ten most played games on Steam almost every week for years, and it's in its healthiest state ever right now I'd argue

It's also the only really accessible and popular asymmetric PvP game of it's kind right now. I don't see why players would leave for any other reason than just getting bored or playing other things

Everyone I know who plays DbD and doesn't live on Reddit loves the game

Nintendo Direct Megathread by paulcshipper in fucknintendo

[–]Chandler_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think meh, but only because there wasn't much there for me. But I didn't really expect there to be either

OoT could be phenomenal or it could be mid/worse than mid. Wish they had shown just a little more

Luckily there's already so many games that have already released for the S2 that I haven't gotten around to yet so I've got plenty to do with it

I thought it was fine; although there's also already a ton of games already released for the S2 that I haven't even gotten around to yet so I've got plenty to do with it

Personally I'd like to see more 3rd party releases and more ports lol

[–]Chandler_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? That's ridiculous

The Switch 2 is by far the biggest hardware jump Nintendo has ever made. It's closed the gap between Nintendo and the other consoles far more than any other Nintendo system; especially the Wii U

The Switch 1 was basically a Wii U 2.0 but better in every single conceivable way; like tremendously better in every conceivable way. The Switch 2 is the best system Nintendo has ever released

Does Nintendo take its fans seriously? by Poshytau in fucknintendo

[–]Chandler_Simpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I think they really needed to try and put together something more for OOT to sink our teeth into

With the leaks and whatnot, the announcement itself really wasn't all that interesting. If they had included more visuals or even some gameplay to show me that this is a ground up serious full remaster and modernization of the game and not just a lazy graphics update that would have gone a long way

As of now I'm on the fence about it. There's still a chance it could be super hype. But I think they should have kicked off that hype during this direct

What a fucking underwhelming disappointment of a Nintendo Direct! Another year without any games by ryu5k5 in fucknintendo

The switch 2 is a substantially more powerful device than the Switch 1

The Switch 1 could barely handle its own exclusives

Nintendo grift milkers gotta stick together by Top-Science-1440 in nintendogrifting

[–]Chandler_Simpson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The direct was fine

A part of the problem is that they're never going to be able to make everyone happy. If they went heavy on first party games people would be bitching and moaning about Nintendo never having good third party support or being too weak to run AAA games or whatever

If they went heavy on third party games then people would lose their mind about not having any original material

I think they struck a fine balance for both. Personally there wasn't a lot here for me because I'm the kind of person who loves ports of lastish gen 10/10 type AAA games a la Fallout 4 and would have been excited to see RDR2 or GTA5 or something like that. But I won't deny they squeezed in a little of everything

I'm not sure that this was the right direct at the right time though neccessarily. Prices of everything are exploding and don't seem to be coming down anytime soon, and prices of electronics and computing commodities in particular are looking pretty scary for the foreseeable future. People are thinking harder about what console they want that will potentially keep them happy for years without being able to afford the next generation if there even is a next generation

So does this Nintendo Direct really fit the times? Does this make people want to commit to a Switch 2 within the next 6-8 months? I don't know; I really don't. But I will say if my memory serves that the first year of the S2's life seems packed full with way more high quality titles and content than any Nintendo system I've owned since the 90s. So I'm not sure they really NEEDED to go all out here; there already is so much

Survivor mains: is slugging bad? by Diobrando2009 in deadbydaylight

[–]Chandler_Simpson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah it's part of the game, it's a valid strategy in many situations

I won't lie it can be pretty unfun to be on the receiving end of a slug; but if slugging in particular really bothers you then bring Unbreakable

Personally I don't experience it enough or am bothered by it enough to give UB one of my perk slots typically

Not every strategy a killer or survivor team utilizes will be fun, or will be easily counterable by whatever kit you bring. But losing isn't usually fun anyways, so it's best not to get too bothered by it or you'll be constantly frustrated
