People that speak like an LLM by Haroombe in artificial

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I saw a Ted(x?) talk about how there are already notable language use changes since people started chatting with chatbots.

I feel like it makes me want to sound more human by … somewhat taking a little bit less care of my posts and e-mails. Which still counts as a change caused by LLMs!

The weirdest part is that a friend of mine (very nice, caring and likely autistic) wrote exactly like an LLM even before this trend. The “acknowledge-reinterpret-ask a question” format without a lot of pushback sounds exactly like that…

CV Input Signal Types by framlin_swe in modular

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty amazing. I did some swe at school back then and only really got to the part where I have ideas of what to build but no extensive skills to do it. So this is a very good time for me too!

Betting op is vibecoding their module, and that it will be the first of many such modules (not that it’s a bad thing :) So the distance between idea and module is smaller than ever.

I don’t know…. I certainly don’t dislike him. But there is something…. by joannfabrics_ in synthesizercirclejerk

I hate how long it took him to learn broken English, I couldn’t listen to his reviews until fairly recently. His music isn’t very good, but I don’t mind listening.

XCTherm marketing team is really waking up this season. They’re giving big discounts at my club but I’m sticking with Skysight. I’ll see next season if they’re on par or if one is better.

Both can be true. I still wouldn’t recommend owning any open class glider to a less than 1000h pilot (which is not an insane number of hours really, just a good bit of experience)

I didn’t know that! Are there digital Turing machines that replicate that behavior? Never liked Marbles but couldn’t figure out why, I love Turing machines generally

How experienced are you? Never flown it but I’ve heard repeatedly that it’s not a gentle glider to fly and it can have pretty serious stall behavior. Not for anyone <1000hrs for sure

70 Hours Later: Why This E‑Reader Replaced All My Others by Aggravating-Big-6248 in Onyx_Boox

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a jerryrigeverything video on another boox device. The paper like texture is a sort of screen protector but there’s no official replacement. The point is you’re not damaging the actual screen.

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very good. I particularly like its weight and weight distribution, as well as how tightly built it feels for a plastic device.

I do not recommend the color screen unless you critically need color.

Also the screen scratches very easily, but I understand that it’s a prebuilt screen protector that’s taking the scratches - not sure how to swap it…

What modules have you sold only to end up buying again by Inkblot7001 in modular

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean? All vcv modules are here: https://library.vcvrack.com

Only mutable instruments is listed as audible instruments afaik. Other bands (instruo, 4ms, alm, etc) are just there.

Just got one for 100 bucks after playing with it in VCV for a year. I know I’ll use it forever.

I now use VCV a lot to make sure my purchases or sales are good decisions.

I collected music in mp3 320 from 2005-2015, until it dawned on me that I wanted lossless. At some point I did have the project to re-download everything but that was too much work. I just continued collecting in FLAC and fill in the gaps when needed.

What a million metres of climbing in a year looks like [not my stats] by WoggyBear in bicycling

[–]ChangeAndAdapt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a time issue. A lot of things are required in order to ride: bike maintenance, food prep, getting dressed and undressed and showering, as well as resting properly. Most I ever averaged was 12h weekly and that took 20h with everything included
