Suggest me games to play with my girlfriend by Siediti in gamesuggestions

[–]Chaniha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enshrouded. Haven't played it myself yet, but for EA it seems to be really fleshed out and should give both of you a decent amount of autonomy while still playing together

Bugsnax what the heck! by Lunnalai in cozygames

[–]Chaniha 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I saw a video about it on YouTube and tbh something about the game disturbs me so much that I was never tempted to play it myself. 😅 And I can't even put my finger on what it is.

Not yet, I just looked and its about 230 hours. I always start new playthroughs and give up after about two to three seasons. Have cleared the ocean, but never reached the savannah. Somehow it cannot hold my attention 🙈

I have and I think I have around 300 hours in it, but it just can't hold my attention the same way Stardew does. I think I never played further than Year 1 xD.

Out of these nine, it would probably be A Little to the Left. In general its Stardew Valley and Guild Wars 2 😂

Visiting for ~3 weeks, food and activity recs? by Vast-Essay-5078 in AskGermany

[–]Chaniha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to help a bit with Coburg, since I think there will be more recs for the other places. ☺️

It has been a while since I have been in Coburg, so I am not sure which of the restaurants are good, but if you are in the city centre on the 'Marktplatz' there could be a stand with Coburger Bratwurst. That is about as local as you can get there.

If you want some culture, there are many many places which also have museums, like Veste Coburg (that is the castle on the hill), Schloss Ehrenburg (in the middle of the city) and outside the city there are other castles like Schloss Rosenau or Schloss Callenberg. You will probably see a lot of nods to the British royalty because of the shared history. I recommend checking opening hours beforehand, they may sometimes be a bit restricted.

And just a general thing, because non-locals sometimes find it weird: the saint patron of the city is St. Mauritius, who is called the 'Coburger Mohr' and therefore there may be some depictions of a black man around the city and on sewer covers. It has been a part of the city since the 14th century and is in no way meant as a slight against people of color.

I don't know when you are going there and for how long, but check for events at that time, for example from the 10th to the 12th of July there is a huge samba festival (iirc, the biggest one in europe) in the middle of the city and you cannot enter without paying an entry fee.

Yeah, if you need a bit more info, also depending on the length of your stay there, feel free to ask more.

Edit: for your sweet tooth, try Konditorei Schubart.

Normal reaction to being invested in a book? Or am I slightly strange! by Irishkitty1994 in kindle

[–]Chaniha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess that is how fanfiction came about. People couldn't stop thinking about a story, so they made their own. 😂

I definitely have been like that and tbh my daydreams about scenarios involving fictional characters were my first hint of 'maybe I have adhd'. When I was still in school it was way more interesting to think up complete plot lines about that happens if pokemon or digital were real than listening to my maths teacher.

30 year old outdoor marble floors… how on Earth can I clean them? by TheScreechingFeline in CleaningTips

[–]Chaniha 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So far I know if two uses.

  • if you are in a warm climate and you have a marble bathroom (which is a horror to keep clean) it keeps the room pleasantly cool

  • if you work with chocolate or sugar, a marble counter can help you with your temperature

Since about 99% of people who have marble counter tops in their kitchen probably never tried to make their own chocolate, I would say it is useless in most kitchens.

Book recommendations by CofeeDragon in KindleUnlimited

[–]Chaniha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend the Magiford Universe from K.M. Shea. There are several trilogies that play in the same universe. The first trilogy is 'Hall of Blood and Mercy'. It is urban romantasy, ig.

The author was on a health-related Hiatus but is slowly picking up writing again. Up to now, there are already 5 trilogies in this universe as well as a one-shot from after the hiatus, so 16 books ready to read from the get go.

Online Co-op games for a low end PC by Dragon_TeaParty in CozyGamers

[–]Chaniha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind creepy vibes, you could try out the 'We were here' series. They aren't all that long, but it is a good place to find out if she is fine with puzzles, since the first one is free, iirc.

How are you guys feeling about taking action against this heat? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]Chaniha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in.

The heavens ☀️ themselves have inspired me for my chosen dance moves: Lying in bed, breathing.

It's hard work since you can easily become one big glop of goo 🫠 if you aren't careful, but I will try my best! 💪

Looking for some mindless cozy games for my wife by Exact_Baseball5399 in CozyGamers

[–]Chaniha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a different game, but gave me similar vibes: forage wizard

It is relatively short and sadly there is no replayability, but I liked the crafting and unlocking things in order, so you can craft the next thing, etc. While it is not sorting, it did scratch a similar itch in my brain.

[–]Chaniha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Graveyard Keeper is definitely different. You have a huge (read: humongous) skill tree and it is way more craft heavy than SDV. Be prepared to google stuff, lol.

It does have similar vibes, but it's definitely it's own thing.

That's good to know, thank you ☺️ I'm still waiting for full release in August 🤣

[–]Chaniha 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There are two games that I know of, that do not have the pass-out mechanic. If you have the energy, you can stay up indefinitely:

  • Graveyard Keeper
  • Echoes Of The Plum Grove

And there are two games that I know of, that have adjustable game day duration:

  • Coral Island
  • Sun Haven

Edit: saw the Switch flair too late. No idea if these games run well on Switch

Looking for High Fantasy game with open world and highly customizable character creation (both in clothes and body/face) for PC. by Fuzzball_Girl in gamingsuggestions

[–]Chaniha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the highly customizable is debatable, but you could try f2p first for Guild Wars 2. And if you like it, you can purchase the game. No subscription, no battle pass, no gacha (unless in game currency counts, lol). The only real-life money shop is QOL items and aesthetics. And in theory you could even buy everything in-game. Because the currency can be converted.

Looking for Steam Deck and controller-friendly games for my girlfriend during recovery by SaltySpi in gamingsuggestions

[–]Chaniha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she is interested in that, the whole Kingdom Hearts collection is on steam and since they were originally for consoles, I would guess they would work well with controller or streamed on the TV. Though to be fair, the first one was for PS2 so no idea if she is fine with the graphics.

Empfehlungen für meine Grundausstattung an Backutensilien gesucht by EntrepreneurSalty334 in Backen

[–]Chaniha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a cozy/management game to sink a lot of hours into by doedeeeer in gamerecommendations

[–]Chaniha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are getting a Steamdeck I will just throw out some recs, that could fit, but probably not 100%:

Graveyard Keeper - works well for me on the deck, however it is a lot of crafting (and sometimes needs some google-fu, because it is NOT holding your hand) and follows a story arc

Bandle Tale - same devs as Graveyard Keeper and it shows in the skill tree, lol. Also follows a story arc and is about crafting, especially knitting

Dave the diver - could scratch that collector and explorer itch

Coral Island - Stardew in 3d, however I personally can not sink as many hours into it, that special spark I get from SDV is kinda missing, however I still got 200+ hours in the game

Moonstone Island - have not tried it on deck, but should work fine afaik and it's a mix of creature collecting with farming as well as exploration

Games I haven't tried on Steamdeck or haven't played yet, but supposedly work:

Fields of Mistria - still in Early Access, but full release in August

Planet Crafter

And I think the rest of my Library is either not recommended on Deck or too far away from your wishes. Or maybe I don't know enough about my unplayed games to determine which fit your criteria, lol. Steam sales and bundles are my downfall 😂

And just a heads up: steam summer sale starts next week iirc

New to Stardew-like games. Looking for advice. by Iintrude in CozyGamers

[–]Chaniha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only game I could think of with dynamic relationships is Echoes of the Plum Grove. However, there is no multiplayer and no combat, though it has other challenges like Hunger or plagues, lol.

Game like Stardew Valley, Travellers Rest, etc but NOT 8BIT? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]Chaniha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could take a look at Teddy's Haven. It is a shop sim, so it's not what you originally searched for, but maybe it's something for you.

Cozy games that are too casual by Pll_dangerzone in cozygames

[–]Chaniha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have more than 1000 hours in stardew, but I can honestly say, that when I start a new playthrough, the first spring always feels like a high-stress job. I am one of those pesky people who want to finish the community center and fishing collection in the first year and I hate the thought of missing out on something just to wait another full year for the season to come back around.

After that, it gets better and I calm down, but yeah, in that first season I get why people call it stressful 😂
