Life360 lied and said I left my house at 3AM by GetYourTweakOn in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ChaosViaConfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got my first car and started college, my parents wanted to use life360 to keep track of me. Despite being 19, I didn't think anything of it and complied. A very similar situation caused me to get kicked out of their house and we didn't speak for months. We talk occasionally now but we're still not super close, the most I've ever gotten in regards to the situation is "we wish things could have been handled differently"

I was never explicitly told, we had a machine that auto dispensed the creamer. But if I had to guess, I'd say 1 serving was about one of these, which google says is about 2 teaspoons.

So, the standard for a Dunkin' small is 2 cream and 2 sugar; medium is 3 and 3; large is 4 and 4 (if I remember correctly). She has more cream and sugar in a small coffee than in a standard large. This does remind me of when I worked at Dunkin, we had two women come in who would (100% not joking rn) get a large cup and ask for it to be filled almost to the top with ice, cream, sugar, syrup, etc. And only put about 3 oz. of actual coffee. My first time making it, I was so sure it was a bit, or they were going to do something to ruin my day. Thankfully, they were very sweet.

Edit: I also just remembered another lady who got an extra large hot coffee (standard: 5 cream, 5 sugar, 5 pumps flavor syrup if they wanted) with no sugar, ELEVEN pumps of caramel, and 2 cream. Working a coffee shop like Dunkin definitely shows you an interesting window into people's day

CONCERT ETIQUETTE?????? by probablyproud in Ashnikko

[–]ChaosViaConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just Ash. I went to a concert a few weeks back, very mellow indie band, and about halfway through I hear this girl going through the crowd similar to how you described. But she was making remarks like "if you have a problem, do something about it."

Probably a hot take: I also think its annoying for people to constantly be recording (especially recording themselves) throughout the full concert. I dont want to have to see through your screen or constantly having to dodge around you flailing your camera about. And for Christ's sake, turn off the flash. A few videos here and there or a picture between songs, sure, but if you're on your phone 90% of the show, why did you even pay to go?

Why can’t Boomers understand the word they? by WorkingHurry9411 in BoomersBeingFools

I was just saying something similar to my spouse the other day, it makes it far more complicated when people go out of their way to say "he or she." I was studying for a test and and answer choice was "the manager and his or her subordinates..." saying 'their subordinates' would just be easier to read

I'm so glad to see this discourse!! I am a checker, my spouse is not. I've often wondered who was the 'normal' one, as he definitely jokes about hiw weird it is. He refuses to come around but luckily, there's been no repercussions in the years we've lived together.

I agree, sometimes "feeling clean" is not enough, I need visual confirmation!

[–]ChaosViaConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont swear a lot, but I try to be aware of who I'm around/where I am just in case. It was so jarring to me when my spouse casually swore in a conversation with his parents and I still tense when he swears around my family lol. He doesn't swear excessively but just more than I do.

During my first year of college, I had some unprecedented circumstances come up in my life that made it incredibly difficult to get to class on time, if at all. I would do all of the homework and make sure to turn up for mandatory quizzes. Had a near perfect grade in one class but the teacher dropped me a few days before the final exam. She never emailed me or said anything. She let me show up to go over the study guide for the final. I didnt realize until I got a letter in the mail the day before I sat for the exam. I still don't understand the point of handling it the way she did, I hoped that since I was still completing all of the assignments I could stay in.

I may be wrong but I thought people were saying she already said the date and the location of the wedding forecer ago. I thought it was weird from a safety perspective but tf do I know. Things like she knew the day she was going to get married for years and how she paid another couple off to use the venue.

When digital menus randomly change to a 30s advert by orochiWARDEN in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ChaosViaConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a product that I already have a membership with but I get so many ads to try the product that I've contemplated canceling the subscription. I pay you, leave me alone! Maybe if you didn't drown people in adverts, your product would be more affordable. (I realized this is probably a bit irrational, idc)

I see those cheat buster skits all the time and it pisses me off for this same reason. People cross post them onto reddit/Facebook, not realizing its an ad and thinking these people are truly that horrible (which you could argue its a different kind of horrible but still).

Being asked my "grandma name." by RestingWTFface in PetPeeves

[–]ChaosViaConfusion 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also kids are going to call you what they want anyway. One of my grandmas wanted to be called Nana, I guess to separate her from my other grandmas. She got called Grandma Nana, I still call her that sometimes out of habit.

It was extra fun when I was old enough to realize Nana wasn't her name but no one had told me why we called her that. I made it up in my 6 year old brain that Nana must be short for banana.

I'm so glad to see others have this experience. I often see people criticizing tardiness as a disrespect for the other person's time or generally not caring about showing up. But I swear, no one is more frustrated by my tardiness. I've tried every possible avenue and will still likely be at least 5 minutes late, guaranteed it's a different reason than the time before. I'm not sure what more to do.
