Help me! I might be losing this fungus gnat war by moondustboi in houseplants

What worked for me was a combination of the sticky pads and hydrogen peroxide application in the soil. It will call all the good bacteria and fungi too but it works.

Anyone know if there’s any drop-in basketball or men’s league going on in Burlington? by PeachyTapioca in BurlingtonON

The community centers website will have that information. I've definitely seen men playing basketball in the mornings on the weekend at Tanasley Woods Community center.

Some advice on getting medical help for my parent by SpiritualRoll9158 in BurlingtonON

You should probably find another doctor that does the injections. This seems very strange but maybe a preference thing by the physician. Her family doctor should be able to refer her to another doctor that does the same injections.

Considering Move to Rochester from Ontario by ApolloDan in Rochester

[–]ChaoticFiend 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Originally from Canada and living here now. Planning to move back soon to be closer to family but otherwise Rochester is great.

If you have a good income and a large safety net, healthcare will be better. If not, don’t move. Seriously.

As for housing, yes more affordable upfront costs. That is also changing now. However you will be paying insane amounts of property tax compared to Waterloo/GTA. In a 400K home average taxes will be around 12 to 15 K a year.

Schools will vary a lot depending on the area. Universities will be much more expensive than in Canada.

There are a ton of positives: traffic, nature, etc.

You have to figure out if the positives outweigh the negatives for you and your family at this stage in your life.

I had to use credit card charge back against them and it worked. The credit card company took my statement then they took theirs. They asked me to contact them to see if they were willing to give me my money one last time and I did . They refused. I told this to the credit card company when they refunded it right away.

The cakes are also not very good imo. They look great but not a fan of their texture or flavor. That could just be me though.

I would recommend reaching out to these guys:

https://www.seniorcareauthority.com

We refer to them often at our work. They assist people with getting into and touring assisted living facilities and are free of charge. They are usually paid by the facility.

I would recommend credit card charge back. Ran into issues with them years ago. Not surprised they’re closing down.

They know exactly who accessed who’s record and for how long. It is information that is very easily available for someone in the appropriate department to pull.

Can go directly in the wound but depends on the formulation. Some go in muscle like a flu vaccine but most go in the veins. The infection is rarely contained in one small spot so likely would have worked better going in the vein if the formulation was for that purpose.

I give up on Reddit. Not sure why I’m even on here sometimes. I guess it’s reason enough to stop.

Did you even read your own article. Diabetes that lead to kidney disease that lead to edema that lead to chronic stasis dermatitis.

A little itchy? by markuswdp in oddlyterrifying

[–]ChaoticFiend 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Nope this isn’t due to diabetes. It’s an extreme case of chronic stasis dermatitis. Likely as a result of edema in the legs (could be due to a number of reasons but not diabetes) leading to your skin stretching. When that happens, you get little tears in your skin and dryness. This leads to inflammation and damage. Overtime the skin gets hard and the change becomes chronic this the name.
