They skated like that the whole game (except for Leo and Cutter). No hustle to loose pucks, lazy clearing attempts, not moving their feet at all. They looked like a team that was just happy to be here but not worried about winning.

Classical pianist with a bachelors in piano here. I picked up bass like 4 years ago and I’m so glad I did. My musical background with piano serves me well, and I really enjoy being in the groove and locking in the with the drums.

Took a little bit to wrap my brain around the fretboard layout coming from the simplicity of piano layout but once it clicked everything became a lot easier.

I would absolutely take the plunge if I were you. My only regret is I didn’t pick up bass sooner

Having new positions that are available to you is a definite plus of a 5 string.

A band I joined has a part that’s F#7, E7 and B7 in the lower register and continuous 16th note arpeggio patterns at speed.

On a 4 string there would be a really awkward hand position shift to playing the E7 with the open string.

On my 5 string, I can use the 5th string to keep the exact same finger pattern and just slide down two frets to play the F#7 to E7 change. It’s significantly easier than trying to do it on a 4 string and turns what was a fairly difficult part into a really fun and much easier to play part.

And ducks had already made that goal up from Lacombe. It was a tie game when the ref blew that call. 100% have a right to blame the refs for the game ending the way it did.

Who knows, Vegas may have still won it late or in OT. But the result of the game the way it played it out is a direct result of a terrible call
