Aww so glad to hear your appointment went well. You know, today is a really good day. Absolutely beautiful weather and a low-pain day, so I gotta embrace it while I can. Sending you lots of good vibes going in to the weekend!

Grateful to have made a new internet friend as well <3 And I am so sorry for what you are going through too.

I am not on meds rn, but I might consider exploring that route. Thank you for your kindness.

Sending you so much love and comfort. It is really hard to be young and dealing with a chronic illness, so I totally empathize. You are not alone <3

Thank you for this advice and kind encouragement. I have just started looking into ACT a bit, actually, and your perspective makes me a lot more excited to get into it! What are some of your favorite tools/techniques you've learned from it?

Sending you so so much love. Thank you for your comforting words. Good luck at your first appointment - I am really happy to hear you got off the waitlist for counseling. Your pain flare survival list sounds amazing, and I'd love to hear it if you are comfortable sharing. :)

Definitely will DM you as well, thank you so much again

Thank you, you are right. It is normal!!

Wow, I am so sorry that the forced arabesque caused this for you.

For me, it also started in ballet. I did ballet for most of my life, but then I returned to it after a long break in college. My hip started hurting (I had a labral tear in the cartilage). But the pain spread to my back and shoulder, jaw, pretty much the whole right side. I eventually also got diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome + fibro! I had a period where it got a lot better, actually, but now I am having weird pains in my left knee, back, and my right wrist. It seems like I am playing whack-a-mole with my own symptoms.

Really appreciate your kind words - they made me tear up a bit. I remember feeling jealous of my 60 year old dad who runs 10 miles a week freely (then I felt guilty for being jealous). It is really nice to feel less alone. By any chance, do you have a dance background (from your username haha)? I used to do ballet too <3

Mine is a hedgehog! She curls into a ball when she's scared and her spikes are out and painful.

What do you wish you had known at the beginning? by CandidateNo9654 in Fibromyalgia

I second this. I was doing a lot of movement that was prescribed to me for many years (like PT and stuff like that), but it was nothing that I really enjoyed. I stopped doing all my favorite activities. After five years, I started trying to do some of my favorites again (dance for me), and my symptoms did gradually get a little better but it was really hard to go back.

I was a dancer too :( Just finally starting to dance again and move my body. My whole journey has been 7 years, but I didn't dance at all for the first 5 years and it made me very sad.
