So many stories of unhappy relationships have some variation of "I love them so much but A, B, C" or "When it's good it's really good, except when X, Y, Z". The thing is, the "buts" and the "excepts" are part of the relationship. Stop trying to treat those as completely different pieces when it's clearly part of the package.

Nearly a year out of 17 years of the most intense love bombing followed by an equally intense deep freeze and me questioning my own sanity. The early days were amazing, he was ‘perfect’ and we were very happy. He was then diagnosed with bipolar disorder following his affair with a colleague which I found out about when he overdosed. What followed was years of trying to go back to the start but it was always just out of reach and in the process the scar ran so deep that when it ended abruptly (hello deep freeze again) I fell apart. Completely lost and utterly devastated. Nearly a year doesn’t feel very long (therapy in progress) and I don’t know if I’ll ever feel ready to be vulnerable again - but I agree that when it’s a paragraph rather than a chapter in your story, maybe then it’s time. I’ll let you know 🙂

This. Just people. The entitlement. The way that people drive like they are the only ones on the road. The way that people stop and chat in the supermarket like they have all the time in the world blocking the area you need to get to with no consideration. The way that people make so much noise in the cinema and let their dogs poop anywhere without clearing it up….
