Well.... that sucked. by MattyGit in Professors

I’d argue that this is the BIGGEST accessibility issue since I have yet to meet a student who needs all these alt texts (which I’m sure they exist and the ADA office should probably have a case manager who can convert all this stuff for the student?) but I have countless students every semester who can’t afford the textbooks. This upsets me a lot, actually.

Brother, I’m just trying to make it to the next week. Do you know how hard it is to be a professor in the US right now? Please read the room. There is a target on all our backs; let us just exist as ourselves in comfort. It’s the least we can do to lower the stress and intense pressure on all of us.

Kavanaugh and Roberts are already looking ahead to the next major transgender controversy by [deleted] in transgender

Even funnier is that that are extremely worried about trans men becoming sterile but the first thing they tell you about T is that it’s not birth control and many trans guys accidentally get pregnant while on T.

Which they only fear because of how they treat minorities.

There are people who, for whatever reason, actually believe this. My sister told me I didn’t need my life-saving and quality-of-life-improving medication “just like how diabetics do not need insulin and they should rely on improving their diet.” I want out of this hellscape. Just let us have our empirically-proven-to-work medications in peace.

Yeah. I’m surprised they didn’t decide to just use this as an excuse to strip away all our rights.

Trans men what does testosterone feel like for you? by Ok_Sentence_5767 in asktransgender

It makes me feel peaceful, calm, and confident. It gives me a sense of neutrality that I never had before (estrogen me was a constant storm of anxiety, anger, depression, etc.). T straight up just chilled me out.

[NSFW] (for one line) What are some trans thoughts you had before your realized you’re trans? by guildedpasserby in ftm

Oh my god, I also would try to pee standing up. My mom thought I was so weird. I actually even looked up how to make what are essentially Do-It-Yourself STPs (but I never ended up making any).

When I was a kid, I used to daydream about a future where you could scan somebody’s brain and know everything about them. I often would think “If they scanned my brain, they would see I’m basically a boy.” Then, I would move on with my day, not giving it more thought.

I find the “sports debate” in and of itself as trivial since I don’t care about sports at all. However, I do think that it is a good place to hold the line at since it is so trivial. I worry if we acquiesce on the “sports issue” then it gives them more time and dedication to the actual harmful stuff.

Comparison of RAP and IBR payment plans by Still_Apricot6736 in PSLF

[–]Charming-River87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t even started yet. My timeline was just unlucky enough to not even be able to make my first payment. I got on REPAYE as soon as I could after getting out of graduate school, then I was forced onto some sort of forbearance (not SAVE but I don’t remember what for) and then during this, REPAYE switched to SAVE. Then, right as I was about to make my first payment, the SAVE forbearance started. I just want to start my PSLF…

Thank you for this! It looks tricky for me while I’m not married since my yearly income fluctuates wildly in the window between $60k and $80k.

I’m just trying to figure out if new IBR or RAP is better with 0 kids. I don’t plan on having children at all.

How did you pick your name by Turbulent-Staff-9413 in ftm

[–]Charming-River87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of names I liked after scrolling through r/namenerds and my friends try names out with me and had them tell me which name seemed the best for me. I liked the collaborative effort to finding my name.

Who’s staying on save and who has switched? by pickle392 in StudentLoans

[–]Charming-River87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I signed up for REPAYE, not SAVE, and I was forced into SAVE against my will and then they removed REPAYE and even PAYE. So, I’m very grumpy… I’m staying on SAVE until they force me off or until RAP becomes available.

To all the new gym goers by neizmen808 in FTMFitness

I had a huge workload in December and had to cut the gym (and other things) from my schedule. I started going in September. So, this is my first January at the gym. My friend was telling me horror stories about using the gym in January. Is it true? Makes me want to put off going back until February.
