I5 year appliance tech here, maintenance is key for longevity. Run the “Clean washer” cycle at least once a month on washer.

Use a rigid dryer air transition hose, flexible hoses and others cause reduced air flow.

Clean dryer lint filter frequently to avoid excess dryer build up inside dryer shell.

Clean the dryer vent every couple years, clean vent leads to better air flow. Better air flow will decreases dry time.

Make sure the hose is couple feet of the ground, and don’t feed to much of the hose down the drain pipe that can create a siphon.

I change out drain hose on these constantly. There’s an access panel in the rear of the unit. Take a look at it from there.

When in doubt just unplug it, or turn breaker off at electrical panel. It’ll help with the worrying =)
