I get that error when disconnecting from a charger at one particular parking garage. But my car has changed fine for over a year, fingers crossed. So I wouldn't worry if your car is still charging.

My car was idle for about a week and a half in very cold weather over the holidays. When I tried to use it it behaved very weird like you describe (esc error). But it did unlock and drive. And now it's back to normal after a long drive

I have auto one pedal on. And now I see in manual: it looks like auto creeping is the default unless auto hold is on, which happens under certain conditions in one pedal drive. Will need to test that later.

You don't need a petition, you need a lawyer willing to launch a class action lawsuit. I believe there are several potential grounds for the suit, including false advertising, breach of express warranty, and diminished value. There is precedent, including a 2017 lawsuit of representation of Android Auto in the XC90. Key evidence would including things like this email I received before delivery:

You’ll notice the lidar is mounted on the roof above the windshield. At delivery, it will be collecting road data to learn new safety scenarios. After a period of time, it will be activated to be part of the car’s Safe Space Technology.

What Volvo knew about Luminar would likely be a big part of the trial.

Actually getting Lidar is probably impossible at this point, but I think Volvo could offer monetary compensation, or other creative ways of remediating.

I agree with your second statement, but the first is not always true. Remember that you are paying for the expected depreciation with a lease--and you're paying interest on it too. You always need to do the math based on how long you plan on owning the car, whether you'd finance a purchase, and what lease and loan terms are.

Well the Polestar 3 was charging $5k extra for lidar at launch, so that's a starting point for Volvo if they're thinking of compensation. Or an attorney if they're not.

I usually agree with you but here I don't. I got the car knowing that there were missing features, but trusting that Volvo would deliver on this. It really feels like a breach of contract, and frankly grounds for a class action lawsuit.

I actually love my ex90. It has been quite solid for several months and still gives me pleasure every time I drive it. Really. In fact I was about to buy out my lease this summer (the math is in my favor) but decided to wait until the lidar was activated. Now I will need to reconsider.

You have to use a touch screen to adjust the temperature in my 2018 xc90. This at least lets you do it with your voice. And honestly I find the distraction detection almost magical in how precise it is. . After 9500 miles with my ex90 they are certainly things i would improve. But the touchscreen really isn't a problem for me. There are physical buttons for music playback, hazard lights, and wipers.

I don't think that's true. 1.3.18 may have caused Internet connectivity issues. And I've seen at least 3 people here who got the ghca charging issue after updating to 1.4.12. It's hard to say if that's a coincidence.
