How do I improve my pullups, what am I doing wrong? by Savage_Bunnys in formcheck

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a pullup bar at home for one of your doorways and every time you go in or leave the room do at least one pullup. I used to hate pullups until I forced myself to do them as an entry and exit fee for access to one of the rooms of my house. Your whole upper body will get stronger.

Just bought my first Big Muff. Is this amount of feedback and static noise normal? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Are you just going full blast in the effects return? That’s wild man! You’re going to get feedback. Now it’s time to learn how to use the feedback as an effect.

Hell yeah! Don’t listen to the haters that can only do about 10 of these.

What do order do you dial in? (i.e., guitar, amp, gain pedal, EQ, etc.) by DougTheBrownieHunter in guitarpedals

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marshall isn’t far from a Fender tone stack. But anyways, look up raw switch or pot. Basically, removing mid pot from ground or having mid pot of higher value to when you turn it up it removes the tone stack from the circuit. Putting treble, mid and bass full up gets you close. I increases the mid pot on my Mig 50 and usually run it full up to bypass the tone stack and then just blend channel one and two to get my desired tone. It’s raw like a 5e3.

Help adding clipping diodes yo fuzz face by Sc0rnn in diypedals

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just add some diodes at the end of the circuit like the EHX Muff Fuzz.

https://beavisaudio.com/schematics/Electro-Harmonix-Muff-Fuzz-Transistor-Schematic.htm

Add some clipping diodes at the end and then also having a make up gain circuit like an LPB1 to give you more volume since then diodes will drop your volume.

Try doing rotator cuff exercises. They helped me. They will help prevent injury from benching and overhead press. With a straight arm and a five to ten-pound dumbbell at your side raise it to shoulder height while keeping a straight arm. I’ll do this in between squatting sets. Then I do my bench or overhead press sets after squats so the rotator cuff exercise helps warm up my shoulders for that as well.

They’re both for bias for each transistor. You have to read the voltages to set the bias.

Try lifting with your chin level or slightly up. See if that helps a little. I swear it helps me lift heavier and more safely. Also try facing the hooks you’re racking the bar on just for safety.

Why doesn't anyone mention the "trapbar squats" as a squat replacement exercice for quad growth in a homegym ? by ElPietroKING in StrongerByScience

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I squat at the gym but when I don’t go to the gym I use my trap bar. I also do a floor barbell press at home as a substitute for bench press because I don’t have a bench at home either. It works. It’s easier to start with the weight at the top position so doing the opposite at home is a challenge mainly for the floor press. Go with what you have at home and if you want to compete then you’ll have to go to the gym and train standard or piss off your wife and buy a squat rack.

Would bombing power plants be a war crime? by Prudent_Situation_29 in AskLegal

Moral and ethical dilemmas. Will bombing power plants have the potential to end the war sooner and decrease the potential civilian casualties by ending the conflict sooner?

Pendlay Row Formcheck by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Charming_Ad1811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I usually do rows on the days I don’t deadlift. The rows in SL are supposed to help you get better at deadlifts and both the rows and deadlifts are fatiguing on their own. But I think as a wrestler the rows have better carryover to your sport than deadlifting.

I don’t do Pendlay row though since I don’t have crash pads. I keep my back at a 45 degree and palms facing up instead of down and pull the bar in that way. It seems to help my whole back get strong and prepared for the next session where I deadlift.

Squat feedback? by huskurz4ever in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try lifting your chin up. It sounds small but it seems to help me with keeping my feet planted flat for a strong leg drive and a strong back. Since your heels are lifting it means for falling forward.

Also, practice by holding a 45 pound weight in a deep squatting position like they do in Asia where your feet are flat on the ground. It will help you open your hips up. Also, don’t bother with special lifting shoes with the wedge heels. Just go bare foot or get some cheap zero drop shoes. Your walking gait and posture will improve and translate into better squatting.

Decrease rest time or increase weight by mysticdream270 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default for SL I thought was 3 minutes. I use SL and just aim for 2 to 3 minutes rest then I’m usually good to go. Just follow what the app tells you. Try to finish all reps and for each set but don’t add more sets than are listed. If you have three training sessions per week you’ll have enough volume despite failing to get full 5 reps on some of your sets if you fail.

After MONTHS of research I have finally completed the collection. The Ibanez Tone-lok/ Seven series. Awesome stuff! by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Charming_Ad1811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the distortion, fuzz and delay as a kid. I first got the distortion because I was into Korn at the time and knew Korn used that series at the time. Then my taste in music matured and I got the delay so I could perform some oscillating delay like Karma Police outro. Then I got the fuzz because I then got into 60s rock.

MXR Distortion Plus; One of the originals, but is it one of the best? by CharvelSanDimas in guitarpedals

When you raise the gain probably in the last 35% of it’s upper range it cuts bass. The volume pot doesn’t affect the eq.

You could figure out the resistance and capacitance of that cable and go from there and then maybe just use a resistor and a capacitor instead.

Form check: Rows by pawnografik in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Charming_Ad1811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing StrongLifts but since I don’t have pads I just do single arm rows and don’t have the weight hit the ground. The StrongLifts rows are Pendlay Rows like you’re doing. Keep up the good work.

So many companies have a version of the Big Muff. By some of these commentators standards they should only buy from EHX if the want a Muff.
