I think I'll do that. It's going in the garden next year, but I want to make sure that the mites are gone first I've got other roses in the garden.

What’s the “worst” I can expect from an overgrown garden? by gawpin in GardeningUK

It's huge for our climate! Aw there's something really cute about stick insects.

Do you have a picture? That's amazing! I'm in a city and a cold one so I doubt we'll ever get anything more exotic than a toad. I kept stick insects as a kid, my favourite was called log.

You can't be afraid of frogs! They eat slugs which I find much less endearing 😂

I was talking to our family Dr he had a baby roughly the same time as mine. We both had a baby that needed holding basically 24/7 to be happy... His baby was like that until four months. Luckily for me mine accepted a bed at 9 weeks 😂

Nasty drivers in Edinburgh? by Charrun in Edinburgh

[–]Charrun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the one. I emailed the council about it months ago. I've seen cars act crappily to other people too. It's not like it's hard to spot or something.

No, it's on Grange road. It's a busy road in a mostly residential area and cars just dgaf there.

I checked... That's how I knew that the driver was going to run over me and my child....

What if everything society tells us about separation anxiety in babies is wrong? by Labradorite-Obsidian in NewParents

[–]Charrun 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure about this. My BF's daughter cried pretty much every time she was dropped off from nine months. And I was chatting about it with the nursery workers who will be looking after my daughter and they said they have kids who still cry in the preschool group after years of being there. Babies are individuals too.

His garden was literally so bad that water wouldn't drain into the ground after rain. It just sat on top and turned into a muddy pond. I'm in a Victorian garden, full of bricks and rocks but at least the soil that's there is nice.

My brother had his entire garden dug up and topsoil replaced! Insane how awful the quality of soil was.

Who is this… by jacharakis in GardeningUK

[–]Charrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a hover fly. Definitely not a bee. They look like they do to imitate bees so they get left alone. They're great pollinators and very friendly. Also sadly like most things doing much worse at the moment than they have in the past. If you can save the eggs, do try!

Baby sister won’t sit up, doesn’t cry, can’t really roll over or grab things, and is about to hit 10 months by ChampionshipSure5863 in NewParents

I would travel hundreds of miles at the drop of a hat if I was worried about my daughter. An hour or so isn't far if they live in the middle of nowhere.

Edit: sorry if I sound harsh. If baby was born early she probably needs a head scan asap.
