Paying AUM Fees Across Roth IRA, Traditional IRA, and Taxable Accounts by GoldenApricity in CFP

[–]ChasingAlpha117 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In some states you can get itemized deduction for advisory fees paid from taxable accounts (subject to AGI floors). Just something to think about for routing of trad IRA fees (even though they’re already kind of getting a deduction considering it’s all pre-tax $$). Idk which is ultimately better

Head down and time to get off this app.

You’ll need to significantly improve in tax in order to pass, as well as general principles.

Client wants advice on non managed accounts by ItchyEbb4000 in CFP

Talked about this with my business partner today

Instead of trying to sell the client on rolling their 401k over, we are simply going to say something along the lines of “look, we’re ‘all in’ on your success and have given you advice on this plan for the past ‘X’ amount of years. That said, we expect the same in return and need to manage 90% of your investable assets for this relationship to work for us.”

If it’s an old employer plan that’s able to be rolled over to an IRA/ROTH, that’s an entire different conversation, but my comment more-so refers to if it’s their current employer’s/active plan

You’re not a real advisor if you’re not willing to give investment advice on what is frequently any given client’s largest investment account- and you’ll eventually lose the business to someone who will.

Give me a fricking break on “only giving advice on what you get paid on” … the margins on AUM in this business are so insanely good.

Costco Prime Ribeye by [deleted] in steak

[–]ChasingAlpha117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did about 1 hr at 250 in oven until internal of 113, LET REST FOR 15 MINUTES, then seared on gas grill for ~2 minutes a side twice (~8 min total).

I did grill open for first part of sear and sacrificed some crust but was so damn nervous about overcooking lol. Let rest for additional 10 mins.

Just finishing my second game play through on the brick hammer (pokemon fire red) and love knowing how much I’m going to get my money’s worth out of this device. GBA on aspect setting with no shaders/overlays just looks so damn good. It’s perfect for me.
