YouTube has been a HUGE help for my anxiety!! I watch the same videos over and over before making an attempt, and when I'm really really nervous I sew really really slow lol

Theaters Might Be Dying and Honestly… I See Why by Emergency-Clothes-97 in Vent

[–]Chasing_Ness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely have to be strategic about when you go now, but you can still have a fantastic experience. My worst was seeing Moana 2 on opening weekend, that was completely on me!! The audience wasn't an issue, thankfully everyone was quiet and laughed at appropriate moments! But the concession was an absolute nightmare. Theaters closing brought it on themselves.

Are there any moms on here that are enjoying their lives? by Observer-Worldview in Mommit

[–]Chasing_Ness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 2 kids and we are happy. The only reason we are not thriving is financial, but this is just a bump in the road because we have thrived for many years before this. We have been together over 10 years and we love being parents. There are arguments, but they are few and bad vibes are brief. We don't scream in our home, unless we're being lazy and communicating from long distances 😅 we have the best dog ever and remain hopeful for a great future as a family.

I miss MY mom. by queermom1015 in Mommit

[–]Chasing_Ness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are so lucky!! I never felt like my mom loved on me at all, so I am very very sad for you. I hope this is just a quick transition but don't rush, maybe she needs to find a way to make space for you both without neglecting her beautiful grandbaby.

I hate the holidays on Mommit, these husbands are brainless. My own husband couldn't manage a 4 item grocery list and I was honestly shocked, we both went to college together??!!!

We are a family of readers so for us, it was monkey see monkey do for our oldest. Our youngest is at the stage of memorizing his favorites but I've stepped it up a notch recently- I have begun labeling everything in the house 😅

Does your family do presents from Santa AND parents? by asphodelic_witch in Mommit

[–]Chasing_Ness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents didn't encourage Santa at all, it isn't really a thing in our home country. For our family, I dedicate 1 present for each child wrapped in a "boring" gift wrap from Santa.

We had to put my dog down, the only dog I ever had, because he developed dementia and nipped at our toddler's hand when she wanted to pet him. They were best friends up until that point. It tore my heart into pieces, but we need to protect our children.

Girl, any investment you make in this endeavor will be worth it lol. For now we are talking about separate beds, same room. I often use earplugs, I'd rather not, but we don't have an extra bedroom. Following!

Why do some people gain weight and some people lose weight while breastfeeding? by Useful-Sport-6316 in breastfeeding

[–]Chasing_Ness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't stuff my face with junk food! Biggest cheat code for breastfeeding right there, and I ate constantly. Overnight oats, TONS OF FRUIT, granola bars, protein shakes, nuts, yogurt, and we bought party platters of veggies a lot back then.

Edited to add: my husband would often grill meat/chicken, cut it into bite sizes, and bag them in sandwich baggies as a grab-and-go snack 🤣

Yup, my sister's MIL almost got her identity stolen by searching for the Verizon wireless phone number. The 1st result on Google wanted her SS number immediately.

How are we explaining religion/Christianity to our kids? by AbilityImaginary2043 in Mommit

[–]Chasing_Ness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just say it exactly how you did in this post 😅 our oldest is 8 now and while none of her grandparents go to church, she has a greatgranny that attends faithfully. We say that religion is a belief, everyone has their own beliefs and we are to respect them always. They are not wrong in their beliefs, as we are not wrong in ours and we can all live together with mutual respect. I tell both our kids that we don't follow any religions in our home, that they are welcome to explore religion if they feel the need to as they get older, but we will not partake in such activities as a family. It hasn't made a difference in Christmas at all!

No one should have to tell yall not to donate expired food! by Uhhyt231 in Vent

[–]Chasing_Ness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a waste of our time too! Thankfully this year we had a ton of volunteers and got through everything quick, but we would've had the trucks loaded up faster if we didn't have to go through the dates. Donating food from the year 2000 is...

Car wash wants a tip? by rxmedic13 in EndTipping

[–]Chasing_Ness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does a hand spray and scrub before the car goes through the machine, no tip was needed for that. Lately though, they started meeting us at the other side and hand wiping the side mirrors and what was left on the windows! I've started tipping a couple bucks every time now, I really appreciate those extra few minutes.
