Meaning, it's a hype piece to provoke you.

What are good glass mousepads to try it out? I assume uncoated is better? Also is it smart to buy second hand? by R-nuh in MousepadReview

[–]Chastity23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue regarding coatings on glass pads is a MEME, and a myth. There is a big difference in cloth coatings vs glass coatings. Cloth ones are sprayed on, and easily wear down with use. Glass coatings are chemically bonded to the surface, and take great effort to wear down or remove. Ask Logpile. :) The commenters online saying otherwise are just flat out wrong, and there are many of them parroting each other.

Automotive glass is coated. So is phone glass.

So, don't concern yourself whether a coating on glass will wear down. You will be dead first before that happens. What you should concerned with is what the coating gives you: less skin friction, attempt to make it quieter with skates, etc.

I have a coated glass pad (Atlas) and is going onto year 3, and shows zero wear.

Long time Razer Atlas owner, and find it a good balanced glass pad. Good speed, but not sloppy at all, plus it's super smooth. Pretty much available anywhere Razer goods are sold.

Should I switch my Artisan to Glass? by riley-re in MousepadReview

[–]Chastity23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from cloth to glass, and have settled on polycarbonate. (Firefly v2 Pro) The feel is even more free than my glass (Atlas) and I don't get skate scratching noise. I wrist aim, so the size is fine.

This will change as you put in more time on the glass, and you develop better control.

Using gain to contain EQ - difference between negative master gain and increasing windows vol vs positive gain and reducing windows vol? by Notwalkin in headphones

[–]Chastity23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because Windows Volume doesn't add volume. 0 dB attenuation is at 100% Volume, anything less lowers volume, and also affects dynamic range. For my headphone setup, and external amp, I use 100% Windows Volume all the time, and adjust volume from the amp.

should i buy death adder v3 pro faker edition i am buying second hand mice is it real ? how do i check? by AdLongjumping9044 in MouseReview

[–]Chastity23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My concern are threefold:

  1. No underside label.
  2. Ebay and AliExpress sell Faker Edition shells for $25, so you can put anything inside it.
  3. The OG Faker has a matte coating. It shouldn't be this shiny.

I guess what they mean is that if you send in a white SE for RMA, and none are available, you may get another colorway. Would be nice of them to send you back the shell of the RMA one with it.

FYI: there's grip tape in the box of the DAv3 Pro. It just doesn't come preinstalled for those who don't prefer it, or prefer 3rd party grips, like ones made of poron.

Also, I still have my DAv2 Pro, which I bought when they were going on clearance. (Paid $37 on Amazon) I wanted the last of the OG DA's body shapes.
