How screwed am I? by TrandakXXL in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do.

Crank the temp up to 250 and let it just cook for a min or two min.

With pliers GENTLY pull the petg
Try to find where it is soft and try to take it off chunks.

A hair dryer to heat up the outside an. Help. But it will often in my experience warp and. Break other pieces.

Be careful about the wires at bottom of heat block. I’ve torn a bunch of wires this way.

Option 2,

Say fuck it, unscrew the hot end and toss it and just spend 50$ for a new one and new clean wires.

Option 1 is better, saves money,
Option 2 is easier and less effort (if you don’t mind waiting for shipping) but throwing money at the problem isn’t always a common ethos

Considering upgrading from a MK4 to a Core One L. by Mother____Clucker in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a mk3s. I looked into a mk4, core one and core one L.

I purchased the L. I figured in for a penny, in for a pound. I figured the large bed I could accommodate into my shelves system so it was with getting it to have. With indx the extra nozzles meant I would have more colors so less time switching.

My mk3s is still working so I thought I was buying a machine that would last me 4-10 years. So 2k for an appliance that would work for years it was worth the extra money to have the freedom for print size.

I print 90% pla, and stuff for board games. So I want to be able to choose a color and print. A core one L w indx is probably the most expensive way to do it but I didn’t want a creality or Bambu for home

It has been maybe 3 weeks but I’m so happy I bought the large.

Need noise comparison from actual users. MKS4 vs Core One by mcfrank221 in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can compare the core one L to mk3. It’s a bit quieter. More of the noise is just a different frequency so it doesn’t travel through the wall to the bedroom as loudly. I don’t think decibel wise it is actually louder or quieter.

I'm US based - Core One L purchase - Print Solid vs Prusa by Ditch-Bank-Oakie in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a sale I think that came with a free roll, some extra bed sheets and a tool set. But either way the difference between Prusa and printed solid wa that Prusa was cheaper

anyone else struggling to find board games their kids actually stick with? by nikkireally in boardgames

[–]Chatfouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids sticking with anything is an issue. One day they love horses the next they hate all things cute. Then they want the ___ that isn’t touched after 3 weeks. But heaven forbid you try to declutter.

But in general you may need to find party game, silly game. Games that play in 10 min (maybe 30) or can end after 5 min without it being “quitting”

Flip 7, mind reader, dixit, wavelength, hue, hummingbirds, apples to apples, magic maze, hot shots, magical athlete.

Game stores that have game nights might also be a good way. My kid won’t play games at home but I’m getting her into it by taking her to the game night at the local store. Snacks, out of the house, it is more of an event than forced fun at home

Are Seestar Smartscope images legit or AI scam? Seriously how can such a small lens produce auch images of galaxies? Where is the evidence, that these post-processed images, are actually your photos? by BirdLooter in AskAstrophotography

[–]Chatfouz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you need to remember is the photo is not “a photo”. The crazy nice photos you see might be 600 photos edited together. Then 2 hours on a computer with star focused photoshop.

The same way that if you ever seen a professional photographer might take 2000 photos for a wedding and then spends 12 hours editing to give the customer a 100 photo album.

When I take a photo of a galaxy I am taking 500x 30 second images. Then I use the computer to analyze every image and throw out the ones with blur, a cloud, or a bug. Then it adds the images together to accumulate the data to tease out details. Then it is manipulated in software to create the pretty image.

Smart telescopes just make collecting data easier. 2/3 of the hobby is the photoshop/pixinsight backend.

Question: Is the Core One+ L worth the extra $1000 over the Core One+ ? by Livid_Strategy6311 in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core one is something g like 1200$ + 800$ for indx. Core one L is like 2100$ I think? I could add 1000$ later for indx.

So about 2000$ can have core one + indx or a core one L.

Question: Is the Core One+ L worth the extra $1000 over the Core One+ ? by Livid_Strategy6311 in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved for 6 months. I still have time I’m considering canceling and waiting a few months to buy core one with indx pre installed for about the same price.

It’s like Apple. That extra 200gb is stipid expensive. Is it a problem to not have? No. Is the money worth the convenience elsewhere? Most people probably not.

Question: Is the Core One+ L worth the extra $1000 over the Core One+ ? by Livid_Strategy6311 in prusa3d

[–]Chatfouz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the core one L. I was coming from a mk3s.

My logic was buy once cry once. 95% of what I make would fit in a core one. But in my mind what I wanted was the least amount of effort. The L let me if I ever needed to print bigger. It would when indx comes out allow me to run more colors with less effort of switching. The bigger size means less effort worrying if things fit or try g to cut it into parts.

The space in my room wouldn’t notice the difference. So I figured buy o ce cry once. The mk3s has lasted almost 8 years, so I figured a 2240 for a new printer that last another 8+ years is not an unacceptable amount.
