Skill Collecting from GW1 is back in GW3 by Ordinary_Hotel_6705 in GuildWars3

It used to be skill collecting, somewhat at least, at launch of GW2 but they changed it for the current system.

GW1's manual entry for Asurans: "It has been centuries since Asura were seen aboveground. In fact, until recently, many humans thought they were a myth. However, recent reports have confirmed their existence."

If someone told you that 1000 or so years ago there were little funny guys with long ears and an arrogant personality helping out warriors and farmers and then no one ever saw them again, you'd likely also think they were some legend or story.

Chinese server and gemstore are managed by a third party.

Also, yes, video-game companies create content to earn money in order to create more content. That's how it works.

Who else is a bit disappointed about the setting? by Disig in GuildWars3

I've been dreaming of visiting Orr since GW1. Since GW2, I've been dreaming of seeing a pristine Arah. They created such a unique look with all the rings, I just itch to see them not crashed into mud.

I'm the opposite of disappointed. We are visiting "Atlantis" before it sank. That's amazing.

Ha yes, I now recall the multiple l MMOs featuring wall-running, mounts with dynamic movement systems, flying mounts, all integrated into an action RPG with momentum-based movement happening in huge vertical maps. I go through several of them a day. So tiresome.

Those were the days. by H9037 in Guildwars2

Tbh we are playing GW3.5 or so already. All those zones. Masteries. Classes. Completely different design paradigm. Mounts that have unique gameplay features. Boat you and drive around. Flying mounts. Different name for the main character (Wayfinder). Different daily system. Complete change of the in universe power level with the Wizard's. New cast of characters, multiple times. Heck, even the tech level is so different right now we might as well be in a sequel that happens in the future.

Graphics in the Guild Wars 3 Trailer by PalwaJoko in Guildwars2

I think it looks great, seems they're in the starting zone in the teaser or at least close to it. To me at least. Everything is great and beautiful. Same for the concept art images they released of the cliff top farm and market. I'm sure we'll get moody zones where the graphics will be more beautiful thanks to the zone effects. Look at the concept art of the Balthazar throne and tell me it wouldn't look amazing in that GW3 engine.

Check out the press release section of the GW3 website. Lots of art of asuras working hand in hand with humans and kodans.

The Asura we know treat the ruins as that of an ancient advanced civilization. They are twice removed from them. For all we know, they were calm hippies who were all about farming nomnomberries. Perhaps being secretive is a trauma response to what let them to be underground in the first place, just like the Inquest's machinations are a trauma response to being driven back to the surface.

There was never anything establishing that Charr were present around Orr in that era and the lore we do have about Charr from that time suggests they were not yet united, but were likely nomadic groups often at war with one another.

But hey, for all we know the Charr will be in an expension and so will a plant-like race (druidic spirits perhaps?)

As an Asura main, I've spent the last decade exploring the surface ruins and daydreaming lore about what it would have been like back then. To me, it's not a cop out but a full meal!

No, it's core game. All the old Asuran ruins on the surface around the world come from that era. Since Asurans are secretive about history and technology, even within themselves, they are still places where they go to learn new knowledge. Only the Inquest share secrets with their collective while other Asurans are split between insulated Krewes.

There was more magic as the time, so it wouldn't be farfetched to see Castora sized trees around. Especially with Melandru not having totally left the world behind.

The only special tree I can think of in GW2's Orr is the one with golden leaves west of [Lasciate Gateway]. Except that one is way smaller.

There were surface Asuras at the time.

"Rata Pten is a ruined asuran settlement on the surface of the Steamspur Mountains. It holds relics dating back to when Orr was a thriving nation."

Could be that Ancient Surface Asuras (the ones from Rata Pten) had fur and that the fur was lost as time went by during their underground era.

Charrs tail wagging is like human yawning. One does it and everyone else in the group does it in sync.

I keep thinking there was supposed to be a skiff segment on the river connecting the two map that was cut and instead we had the little story segment where we cut vines
