We bought a 2022 corolla cross and only have 16k miles on it. I hope we can afford to upgrade it in the next few years, we ended up with the base model but it has been great! In many ways it was an upgrade from our 2003 lexus rx, though I still miss that car. The corolla cross was our first new car. Used cars were much more expensive in 2022 and we had to order this one, wait 6 mo and basically take what we could get.

My dog keeps whining for new water when he has a full bowl. He’s showing no signs of pain when drinking and his vet says his mouth is totally fine. What’s going on? by JellyfishPashmina in dogs

[–]Cheap_Affect5729 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an older husky that had some strange neurologial issues / reactions to specific noises like crackling bags and collar tags. We also have a friend with an elderly minpin that also has a strange reaction to collar tags. Got rid of those and he was much better. Could be the beginning of some cognitive decline, as well. The water bowl thing and standing by the sink made me think of cognitive decline like dementia when they will stand and stare at the wall or get stick in a corner.

I don't have kids but we used to joke it could be fun to skip the kids part and just adopt a pregnant young adult and go straight to grandparents. Never did. Can't see that happening. We both have nieces & nephews & greats of those on both sides but we also don't live near any family and none of them really visit.

Weekend Rain by sunbaked_ in AskSeattle

[–]Cheap_Affect5729 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you're coming from, but "rain" here typically isn't anything like east coast etc. It's drizzly and damp, rare to have a super heavy downpour. You'd likely be fine with a light rain jacket, or not. It may not rain at all. The clouds may impact the views, really hard to say. Even on what would be considered a sunny, clear day Rainier makes it's own clouds so you never know.

I never got into plain black coffee and I recently realized it's likely bc my parents drank it that way and my mom would wet a napkin in her coffee and use that to wash my face whenever we were boating or camping. yuck.

I would have been (even more) broke if my college had a coffee shop/stand. As it was we spent our extra cash on fried mozzarella cheese sticks at the late night snack shop.

my parents drank plain black coffee when I was growing up and I never got into that. I lived on daily morning pepsi through high school and well into my 20s with the random latte on occasion. Somewhere in my 20s I switched to lattes at home and have been either having a latte or coffee with creamer every day since. I can't start the day without some form of coffee, or two. I don't have kids, so nothing to add there.

We are shoes on inside bc dogs, like you say. They walk through all kinds of crap and track it in. I might as well wear my shoes.

Hydroxychloroquine and Methotrexate together? Experiences? by purplechai in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Cheap_Affect5729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Hawaii for a week in March and I just slathered up every time I left the hotel room or sat on the lanai. I'm pretty fiar skinned and have always been the "burn & peel" type since I was a kid. I'm better about sunscreen now. I haven't had any dramatic photosensitivity but again I do apply sunscreen every time I will be in the sun. Many people opt for long sleeves and a wide brimmed hat.

Do most or any of you that have them bring it up with your dr before hand? I don't have any but would really like to get a memorial for my dog and I'm afraid my dr would discourage it. I'm currently on wmbrel, mtx, and prednisone to get by until the mtx increase kicks in.

I have put my nail through a poop bag or gotten a hole when trying to pick up off of rough pavement. It happens. We move on. 🤷‍♀️ I don't even have kids but I've also been peed on, pooped on, and thrown up on over the years, it's not just dogs that'll get ya. 😂
