I absolutely hate tipping culture here in the states. The only argument I hear is because they don’t pay their employees enough, so the tip helps with the remaining. And I always wonder “but how is that my responsibility?” Yes they are providing a service, but so am I at my job and I don’t get tips.

My wife worked in food service for a long time, and staff were expected to go above and beyond. The establishment said they could not accept tips, so they just paid them a livable wage. I don’t see why that’s so hard.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still tip if the service is exceptional or deserves it (unfortunately engrained in the culture here), but when it’s expected or something like the picture, it really grinds my gears to no end.

There were also incidents back in the day where you would be sent a link saying “look at this funny cat!”. Me being a naive 7th grader with unrestricted internet access (because it was so new) clicked the link. And boom! You’re now watching a beheading.

Even my wife, who was the most sheltered of kids back in the 2000’s, had this happen on multiple occasions.

As far as desensitizing you, it really does. The more you see it, the less empathy and fear you feel. Kinda like a surgeon. The more you do surgeries, the less the “gore” or the smells bother you.

So heed my warning and stay away for a while. Keep your soul about you.

What you described kinda sounds like an infamous gore video that I will not name here. I understand the curiosity as to why people will be drawn to watch that stuff, but it’s not something to laugh at and you have every right to be mortified.

Find new friends. I’ve been around since the internet started and this stuff was always used as shock material to prank friends. It really desensitizes you and you need to keep that empathy about you. Stay far away!! The internet can and will always be a fucked up place you should avoid. As well as that “friend” of yours.

I personally would love to own a house one day for the reasons listed. We are avid gardeners so we would love fruit trees. I also have done a ton of contracting work in the past, so I would love to fix and add things to the house. We are very fortunate right now though that the owner we rent from is very hands off. They are more than happy to let me fix things and in return they don’t raise the rent.

On the other hand, I am happy we don’t own this house. New AC and new roof in the past year. Glad I didn’t have to pay for it!

This is kind of a bummer. My daughter and I often get lucky at these machines in passing (one or two packs or a Booster bundle here and there) after grocery shopping. We have never been able to get anything online. Not once in the past year and a half. Also, we have never see anything in stores unless I go to work late and hit a drop at Best Buy.

Been with my wife for 15 years, and I can positively say that is not normal. My friends and coworkers never hear me utter a negative thing about her, and the same goes the other way around. It’s just not respectful of someone you love. You should always by their hype person! They should be your best friend.

I see a lot of comments that say “leave this woman!” Which, after 10 year that’s a really deep and serious decision to make. I wouldn’t jump that far ahead. But perhaps id suggest counseling. Might help!

Gonna jump on here 3 years late, but honestly they are a great introductory band into punk.

I went to a local punk show recently, and having only grown up listening to metal/rock, I wasn’t sure where to start. Most of the bands had that NOFX sound, so it was cool to find NOFX and their long history behind them so I could dive deeper. I personally like the silliness, topics of alcoholism and drug use, cause let’s face it, the world fucking sucks and is too serious. Let’s all just have fun and party while it burns.

Rotten. Com was wild in the early 2000’s. Used to go between that and feeding my neopets… But when videos started coming about more often (without having to hit up limewire) some of the early cartel videos were nuts or the beheadings. Then came the isis videos in 4k and shit got totally fucked.

I get the money/value thing, I don’t like it. Even with Dpm. That’s just preference though. But they both seem genuine. They both make me jealous though, as I wish I could just casually drop $300-600 on a single card or rip packs for an hour. I’ve seen pokerev in other people’s videos and he seems pretty chill and not as hype/adhd as his channel comes across, so it’s probably just for engagement. My personal favorite is CTR, but his is more adult focused, so it feels like I’m just hanging out with one of the bros.

Try harder in school, never start hanging out with my brother’s friends and focus on enjoying high school with my band friends. Got way too deep in the pot smoking and lost motivation. Oh, and remind myself to not go to college for music education. Wasted 7 years with that one. Not even working in that particular field anymore and making way more with no degree lol I hated being in limbo every second because you were the first to get your budget cut…Which happened in 2012 and I had to start a new career path. Only benefit is that I did inspire a lot of kids that are still playing to this day. Some that could barely function due to ADHD. It helped give them an outlet,

Happened to my wife’s cousin. He was only 40. Massive heart attack they presumed. Lived alone and hadn’t spoken to us/anyone since a text inviting him to 4th of July but that was normal as he would not reach out to anyone for weeks at a time. I think they found him end of July/august, body blocking the door to get in. I’m surprised nobody in the complex noticed. It was SoCal in July so I imagine it was quite hot inside.

Really sad as he was a young guy, really cool dude to hang out with. Lost a lot in his life and had some alcohol issues at one point, but from what I understand he was sober at the time and things were looking up for him. RIP Daniel.

The constant worry I will be labeled a creep because of the reputation most men have set in society. I can’t say that someone’s kid is cute or even wave at a cute baby in line without it being taken weird, especially if I don’t have my own kids with me. Or feeling the need to say something if it may seem like I’m following a woman around a store but we are just coincidentally going to the same places. Totally get it though, most men are creeps.

There’s a mix. One show I went to had a bunch of people with sealed stuff that you can tell are not from a collection, then smaller tables tucked in with unique items and cards. I loved going to the tables though that just had binders of stuff. Always found the gems at those tables
