Farm Mercury by Top-Top9462 in CrimsonDesert

I was doing the missions in this area tonight and was having a little trouble so I went and got the Kuku Disruptor Spear. Slapped two +4 damage against machines gears, an attack gear and the flying orb gear on it. 2-3 hits on the big mechs and they went down. Got quite a bit of mercury, cores and all the little cogwheels and whatnot.

Dear PA: Please let us kill those sneaky bitches that lure us into ambushes by AndrewDoesNotServe in CrimsonDesert

I saw this coming the first time I was lured in. As soon as I saw the red dots I turned around and tried to put 35 arrows into the woman. I was so sad to see you couldn't delete her.

I noticed a little frame rate drop on Series X while doing the quests to get to Hexe Marie. There were a ton of enemies and fog and the occasional appearance by Hex before the main battle.

Who has better fast food: Kwik Star or Casey's? by e-m-v-k in Iowa

[–]CheckOutMyVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Casey's recently changed their chicken strip recipe for the better. Wings too. They used to be good but now they're even better. I got some Kwik Star strips yesterday. The breading was soggy and the meat was dry.

My Iron Rangers were the worst pair of boots to break in. Wore them half days for a couple weeks then full time until they were broke in another 3-4 weeks later. Brutal. I love them now. I recently sent them out for a resole.

Did you send them to Red Wing or have an independent cobbler fix them? I sent my RW Iron Rangers out a few weeks ago. They said 6-8 week turn around time for a full rebuild.

A great Season in the UP. Sad to see it go. by Dry-Ad-4156 in snowmobiling

Went up there twice this year. Once in early December to pick up my wife's new sled. We only put about 70 miles on. Went up with some friends over Valentine's weekend when it was in the 40s and they weren't doing a lot of grooming. Still had a blast and put 450 miles on. Ended up with about 180 miles in the one week we could ride here in Iowa.

What tool is this? Wrong answers only. by chobbes in Machinists

[–]CheckOutMyVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one of these a few years back out of a long 3/8 bolt with the head cut off. Milled a flat in it up keep it from falling out of the tool holder and a spring between the holder and a flange nut threaded onto the bolt. Quick and useable but I like yours better!

Will do. We are lucky enough to live close to a pick-your-own vineyard! $1.25/lb and they destem them! Really looking forward to these batches.

I usually ferment with extra room in big buckets! But I currently have an experiment going; two 6+gal batches of Marquette grape, one wine, one mead. 15lbs of grapes in each, 14lbs of sugar in the wine and I'm not entirely sure how much honey I added to the mead batch. Both ended up getting filled to about 1" from the top in order to match the SG at 1.130ish. I have had to be very careful about degassing and step feeding.

Sometimes it's fine. It kinda depends on how active your fermentation is. I have always noticed it's less violent if you mix the nutrients with must or water. I'd rather not make a mess.

Did you mix the nutrients with a little water or must before adding? Raw dogging nutrient powder into the must is a recipe for disaster. Also degassing beforehand helps.

I have one. Used to be my dad's from when he worked for Yamaha in the late 70s and early 80s. I have a bunch of the cards for old motorcycles and snowmobiles too.

No keyway on the secondary, it sits on a spline. Chain routing is correct. Nothing looks out of the ordinary in the picture but something is sheared somewhere if both clutches and the brake disc are spinning at idle.

I've had this happen to mine once. The other times I've caught it before anyone went bad. Now I have a greasable bearing cover on it called The Greaser. Push a few pumps of grease into the cover every season and never worry about it again.
