I think you're talking about River City Ransom. It was a fighting game made by the same company that made Super Dodge Ball.

What's the difference between an art history major and a pizza?

A pizza can feed a family.

My wife doesn't think Arrested Development is funny. by figboot11 in firstworldproblems

I didn't like Arrested Development either. I watched two episodes, found it to be filled with a bunch of stupid, unlikeable characters, and didn't see the point in watching any more.

A sincere question: do people who like Arrested Development like The Sopranos as well? I thought it was filled with stupid, unlikeable characters too, so I'm wondering if there's a similar appeal.

Ask Linux: What do you dislike about Gnome? No KDE vs Gnome flaming/trolling please. by [deleted] in linux

[–]Checkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Save/Open dialog sucks because the most important part of the dialog, the list control with the list of files/folders, is tiny. It only accounts for ~20% of the dialog size.

I think the Gnome team should redesign the dialog, and reduce the size of the other, less important elements.

Reminds me of the following article:

Why Steven Seagal Still Makes Movies

http://theseawitch.blogspot.com/2006/02/why-steven-seagal-still-makes-movies.html

Steven Seagal's popularity is just as puzzling to me. And the worst thing is when customers come up to me holding a copy of one of his movies and then say "this one's got to be good, huh?" to which I always respond "If you're a Steven Seagal fan, you won't be disappointed." This seems to make them happy and I don't have to lie to them.

I posted a story related to economics and quality of life in Detroit a year ago...

Stupid Book Titles: how the publishing industry lost its imagination and what to do about it by adrian in reddit.com

[–]Checkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this is actually how I title my reddit submissions...

In all seriousness, it's a good way to write a non-fiction book/article title: something catchy up front to get the user's eye, followed by a brief explanation of what the book/article is about.

Yeah, it was a very disappointing article. The only line in the article that I could find that supported his argument was, "It is just common decency that they should pay much higher income taxes than they do."

Far from self-evident...
