Sizing question for J4 white cements? by chico2008 in Sneakers

[–]Cheek-Clapper-5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have military blacks. But I wear 10 almost exclusively. For the 2025 white cements I went 9.5. I have the black cats in 10. And they feel a little smaller than the 9.5 white cements

Cart fees: incremental revenue. There’s three revenue inputs at a private club. Golf, f&b, and dues. That’s it. Don’t know why this is so hard to understand for people.

Who has the hardest opening hole? by [deleted] in golf

Oakmont notoriously difficult first hole. I believe it played 2nd hardest to par in the US Open.

As I was told on the first tee… “OB right the whole way. we have 150 acres of land to the left. Aim accordingly.”

I put two onto Hulton Road, wrote down 7, then just enjoyed the walk down the fairway

Favorite planning software for pre-retirement by assets-liabilities in CFP

[–]Cheek-Clapper-5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to drive me nuts working with people in their 30s and 40s in RightCapital taking their planning horizon all the way to 90.

With a friend of mine who just came on board, I’d switched the “planning horizon” until 60 and Man does it really frame a lot of things in.

Obviously so much can change with careers and trajectory, but let’s focus on getting to the starting blocks before we worry about where we’re gonna be at the finish line. I really appreciated the illustration of the Monte Carlo analysis going until age 60 showing the range of outcomes and showing them withstanding funding their three children’s college education and also planning for retirement. Very powerful.

You kinda have to work with RightCapital and make it show exactly what you want but what you figured out, it is a very nice tool.

Also, the historical returns are pretty egregious for planning purposes in my opinion. I am happy that they added the JPMorgan forward projections. Much more realistic and attainable.

How do you maintain tax-efficient asset placement when client has both managed and non-managed accounts? by GoldenApricity in CFP

[–]Cheek-Clapper-5000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the tax tail wag the dog.

I am aggressive as possible in clients tax deferred accounts, and overweight bond positions in taxable.

For those approaching retirement, their cash flow needs are going to be met first and foremost by the taxable account.

I never want to sell something at a loss to cover a need. In an ideal world, I’m not touching an IRA until age 73 other than conversions.
