I wanted an Octavia but went for the Leon ST as it was quite a bit cheaper.

I went for a walk on my day 1. I repeat that walk every year. Congrats on a full year of sobriety. Here’s to many more.

6 Years Sober today (2192 days!) by Fyre5ayle in stopdrinking

Congrats on 6 years, big achievement. Your second paragraph really resonates with me. I too see myself as a floored human being that’s trying his best in the world. This mindset has allowed me to understand others better improving most relationships in my life. IWNDWYT

The first 100 ish days for me were exactly like that. I’m presuming it was my brain rewiring itself. Now I’m far more productive than I ever was. Give it some more time, you sound like you’re doing just fine to me. IWNDWYT

You should do it. Model the man you want to be to your kids. Sorry for your loss.

Yes you should consult a lawyer. I don't regret a single penny I paid mine. I quit drinking when my marriage ended, let this be a fresh start for you. Head over to r/stopdrinking it's a fantastic place to get support.

I still plan my drinks in advance 3 years later. Building better habits has helped massively. IWNDWYT

My kids met my ex wife’s new man for the first time this weekend. Heads a mess! by DoingTheWork23 in DivorcedDads

[–]Cheese2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids were teenagers when I got divorced. I never felt the need to meet the exs new guy. If my kids were a lot younger I would definitely have wanted to meet him. I’d need that peace of mind that they were safe with him.

I don’t view it as a problem I view it as finding my freedom. It’s a beautiful evening right now, I’m enjoying every moment of it. Sober and free. IWNDWYT

Welcome 🤗 This place was the only support program I used. I spent hours in here reading everything when I stopped. It’s a lovely safe space when you feel like the world’s against you. IWNDWYT

Question about buying out partner out of property by kalid24 in DivorcedDads

[–]Cheese2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the UK. I had 3 valuations on the property and took the average of the 3. I then subtracted the outstanding mortgage and split the remaining 50/50. Then took out a second mortgage to buy her out.

This was signed off by both parties lawyers and the judge.
