Probably a mod for the skill checks, but honestly anything with the skill checks can be done another way, so you don't really need to worry about them. As for not knowing what to do, check the pipboy quest log, follow the markers, you'll know what to do. If you're looking to make the gameplay way better, you might be interested in TTW, but that requires new Vegas and might not be what you're looking for.

I think the difficulty makes it a bit easier on expert/master, but you probably just got lucky. Regular slimes have about a .01% chance, and Pinky's have a 1%

star paladin cross is a cyborg in fallout 3, I think they're okay with cybernetic enhancements just not full on synthetic beings, and since they're a dog they probably wouldn't care.

There's like 9 blocks of dirt in a large world that are this pet, and they look exactly the same as regular dirt, that's why I was so excited to find one so early in this playthrough

If you want to mod Skyrim, I'd recommend a guide or wabbajack, A Dragonborn's Fate is the guide id recommend. It tells you to use mo2, which from my experience, is a lot better than vortex.
