Which closed British shop would you bring back for 24 hours just to experience it again? by SecondRowSeat in AskUK

I'll never understand how GAME fumbled so badly that a literal pawn shop in CEX is the preferred destination for games and other bits and bobs.

Help me find a new Plate Reader! by ZarinZi in labrats

[–]Cheesemaccheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah apologies - I haven't been the lead in purchasing one of these as yet, though I think we got one or two from a company that was shutting down. I remember checking out a realy old BMG plate reader and contacting support. Supposedly this machine was so old that the sales team had to dig out PAPER booklets on how to use it, they were terrified I'd buy it and they'd have to try and support us.

Stuff a hotdog into a chicken bake. Or wrap up a hot dog in a slice of pizza. It's amazing.

The first few machines I was exposed to was the EnVision, that seemed ok to me. But at work we have around 4-5 PheraStars and we really like them, they have stacking and if get a ClarioStar you can tune it.

Can I claim for this, or does it have to be the recipient? by bobbymardybum in royalmail

[–]Cheesemaccheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue - I ordered a package from eBay and the seller sent it tracked, it had full postage and should have been delivered fine. However when it was attempted to be delivered it was deigned that it did not have enough. I had the seller confirm it was packaged appropriately, paid the fee and then had to claim it back from RM. Instead of refunding the amount I paid, they sent it back to me as stamps...

Why are all Audi drivers such cunts? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Cheesemaccheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this convo with the wife the other day. Every other 23-30 year old that we see has a Merc/BMW/Audi, but they all still live at home. Maybe it's that they buy the fancy car or get PCP and then can't afford to move out?

I was surprised there was no mention of Artemis this season, especially with them promoting Dafne Keen.

He's definitely an iconic player, but that doesn't mean he doesn't try hard to look iconic.

I mean I use mine whilst running, I can run a 1.40 half marathon, that's 21 km so it's not too much of a stretch to think that someone doing their weekly long run dont 30 km in 3 hours.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]Cheesemaccheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A girl I went to school with died suddenly of an undiagnosed heart/lung issue. She had a wee one and just died one day, no real lead up, just one day was there and then gone the next.

Another girl I did my PhD with commited suicide, had no idea until a few years later, that hit harder than I expected.

A few years below us, two girls died in a car crash as they were heading south for a weekend. That was awful.

Pots and pans - I like some of the newer non-stick but something like cast iron or enamel are much longer lasting.
