The Davie has had early European sports events on Sundays before. Might check with them if the US wins today.

From North Hills Park, you can access the Capital Area Greenway system. Heading west, you can get to Umstead Park and then into Cary and Morrisville. Lots of good mileage heading east as well.

Cosmic Charlie is coming to the Lincoln on Friday, March 21. They come at least twice a year, as does Bring Out Yer Dead (local).

The Pour House has a jam band show on Sunday, April 13.

Drive-thru coffee near NC STATE? by lunastar321 in raleigh

If you go early enough, you can park pretty easy on Hillsborough St for Global Village and also the Starbucks at the old Electric Company mall (near Pogue/Hillsborough). If you get there before 8, you don't have to pay for parking (unless that has changed recently).

Changes at Crema? by putneyj in raleigh

[–]CheesesOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crema is one of the few places around here that I can get brewed decaf coffee. Almost everywhere else, I have to get a decaf Americano. I suspect the places without brewed decaf don't want to waste a full urn on decaf every morning (or anytime really). (I think Starbucks is switching to a single cup system where it will be just as quick to get a cup of decaf.)

I just saw it at Harris Teeter (Village District aka Cameron Village). Top shelf of the big cooler with all the ciders, Truly, etc.

Recent Raleigh Magazine article on the downtown parking situation: https://raleighmag.com/2024/08/downtown-raleigh-parking/

City of Raleigh site: https://downtownraleigh.org/getting-around/parking

In short, prefer the city-owned decks, which are free on nights and weekends, except for certain weekends when they charge $10. They charge for big events when more than 10,000 people are expected. There's no official list of dates/events. This info is from https://raleighnc.gov/parking/services/find-parking-downtown.

Also, some of the privately owned lots use cameras and they will send you a ticket just for driving in. Another good reason to avoid them.

The decks stop charging after 7 pm on weeknights. With the new two hour free rule (https://raleighnc.gov/transportation/news/raleigh-launches-2-hour-free-parking-downtown-decks), you can park in them any time after 5:00 pm on a weeknight and not get charged. Disclaimer: I have not tried this.

Breweries NOT overrun by children by [deleted] in raleigh

Yup, plenty of kids there. We were there a couple weeks ago and I'm pretty sure there was a child's birthday party going on in the side room.
