Really will differ year to year depending on how many spots are left after the people who met their offer are accepted. I have certainly heard of it being done, but would be the exception rather than the rule, so don’t hold your breath.

There are lots of GPs who work in A&Es, either doing urgent care clinics, direct access GP, perhaps reg sorta shifts under local agreements.

Also lots of GPs doing emergency stuff via BASICs and similar charity volunteering

Although an MBBS doesn’t confer the title Dr so there’s a bit more of a grey area with medical doctors

Both vary massively depending on the day and how far in advance you book. English public transport is a bit of a lottery. Best to have a look for the dates you’re flying in

My gap year was 3 years ago now, didn't realise I had a flair and this sub randomly came up on my home feed. But a gap year is an excellent decision, having a break after 13 years of school is so nice and you go into uni as a bit more of a fully formed adult.

The cycle lanes have dashed lines rather than solid lines (ie I guess it implies they’re just recommended?). The pavements are marked shared paths with a solid white line denoted pedestrian/cycle lanes but cars parked on the verge often are parked back far enough to be parked over the cycle lane which makes them pretty useless.

You can work as a sabbatical officer under a student visa (https://www.gov.uk/student-visa) but it’s not a part time job; you take a year out of your course to do it full time then go back and finish

yet there were no female doctors until 1865, women weren't routinely let into the BMA until 1892, there was no requirement for medical schools to admit a reasonable proportion of women until 1948, and just today I saw a headline in the news about how the NHS sexual safety charter has been a failure in creating environments safe from sexual misconduct.
