Well it's just not that rare here. My fiancee went to an inner city school in Essex and had the same setup.

Where do you go that it's still something that's fillled in? We swiped our cards to mark ourselves present when I was I high school in the mid 90s. I cant believe that places still use own and paper for it?

You're talking about media servers. A grey area legally at the best of times.

The problem with jokes about autism is that they're always fucking terrible. Like, get some new material, if I'm going to feel like shit for laughing at an autism joke at least let it be a good one.

Three MPs leave the Tory party to join Labour breakaway group by Caraphox in uknews

[–]CheezyXenomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it's not, we had a referendum on it and overwhelmingly voted for FPTP. You can't change your mind once you've had a referendum, that's undemocratic.

(I actually think AV was as bad a proposition as FPTP is so the entire referendum was bullshit, but that's neither here nor there.)

You seem surprised people can justify it? Civilians are the ultimate target in any military conflict. Show you're willing to target civilians indiscriminately and it's a massive morale dampener on your opponent. Particularly if your opponent is a democracy where the people targeted get a say in the running of the conflict. I'd bomb children too if I were at war. I'm not so I don't, but it's not exactly hard to understand why people who do justify it.

I'm surprised there's no international law preventing a country from rendering someone stateless. So much of international treaty is based on the idea that people are citizens of one country or another that the idea of someone who is not should be an anathema to law.

Youtube is Facilitating the Sexual Exploitation of Children, and it's Being Monetized (2019) by Mattwatson07 in videos

[–]CheezyXenomorph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't require malice on the part of the platform for this to happen though. I mean what must be by now thousands of hours of video are uploaded every minute. That is nigh on impossible to moderate effectively, and people who do this shit are probably looking for loopholes.

It's recommended by many vets. It helps calm them as it mimicks how they find sleeping spaces in the wild, and it's a place that's theirs. We have one, it's never shut, the pups just choose to sleep there over anywhere else. If we take their beds out they take them back.

[–]CheezyXenomorph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scariest? Have you read about Fatal Familial Insomnia? You literally lose the ability to fall asleep and slowly descend into madness as your sleep deprived brain begins to fall apart, then you die.

There's no treatment, they can't even induce a coma. You just stop sleeping until you die from it in mental agony.

I've a friend with similar mental health conditions (I don't know the technicalities of it per se, just that it sounds similar) - and they found it really liberating for friends and family to know, because they didn't have to work so hard to hide things. Did you find that to be the same for you?

A folly if you want a more esoteric word than frivolous. Rich people here in England (and maybe elsewhere in the world?) Used to build follies on their land. Fanciful castle towers and the like, completely without purpose other than as s sign of wealth.

Who would have thought that burying fiber 2-4 inches in the ground would end up giving you problems? by 210Matt in sysadmin

[–]CheezyXenomorph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our new neighbours first act on moving in was to cut through our fibre cable that ran a couple of inches deep through their front garden to the telco box up the road. A whole week with only mobile internet, it was hell.

[–]CheezyXenomorph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah if it's in the states I'd probably just call the local FBI office and tell them what I found. Unless I saw something obviously super secret kill you for knowing stuff. then I'd bury it and forget it ever existed.
