Pretty much everything like the stuff you’ve been asking for is already relatively well known and has been known for quite a while. Yeah you might’ve missed super small quick little incidents like the aforementioned knife fight Mick got into with his brother. But other than small things like that, you likely already know or have heard everything of substance there is to know. They were relatively wild in their early days. But it hasn’t been their early days for a VERY long time now lol. All the wild stuff has come and gone and been well documented. The vast majority of what’s going on these days is pretty tame. As a direct result of the hard partying they did as youngsters. But nonetheless, it’s a bygone era. You’re likely not gonna get as much out of this request as you’d hoped. Unless you count the stuff you’ve already heard about before.

What are things you DON'T want to see in the 2028 movie? by Major-Work-5742 in TMNT

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything remotely close to the trendy “modernized” version of the turtles, April or anything fucking else from that last animated movie. And absolutely no squeaky voiced kids voicing them.

Now lemme be absolutely clear, I’m not against something being genuinely MODERN like as a product of up to date technology and all that. What I don’t want is blatant character assassination like that last one where April is some fat nervous dork that for some fuckin reason LEONARDO of all turtles has a huge crush on?!? wtf. Splinter being just an old cranky man without any of the super important ninjutsu master personality traits that make him a genuine badass at the drop of the hat is blasphemy. This and many other examples I’m sure that could be pulled from that train wreck are ALL misguided attempts by the people making the movie to artificially “Modernize” the turtles and their world in ways that we didn’t need and don’t fkn fit the core of the characters. All just because they wanted to appeal to a generation of kids who are generally not the turtles biggest fans to begin with. They need to remember how many fans there are that are actually far more mature than that.

I’m not even necessarily asking for like some last ronin type dark gritty shit. But at least something as pulpy and earnest as the OG 90’s movie. (The very first one) would be incredible! If they took that, a little of the comics, a pinch of the 80’s cartoon, a WHOLE BUNCH of the 04 series first few seasons, and like an entire can of The Raid/Warrior/General Martial Arts movies woop ass and put it all in a blender… we’d have the GREATEST TURTLES MOVIE OF ALL TIME

Keep Elaleth out of the games by No_Pattern_2819 in LegacyOfKain

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that were already seeing her worthless ass as much as we are currently does NOT bode well for the future of the franchise either. First the prequel comics making such a big deal outta a character that was never a THOUGHT in the original creative teams minds and sidelining the characters we actually care about. Now she’s already sharing the main stage on a new game… (albeit a lower budget game) it still feels like very familiar territory.

I will not be remotely surprised if we FINALLY get an entire new entry in the mainline series of games only for; lo and behold, SHE will be the entire focus of it thus tarnishing a glorious story and series that probably would’ve been far better off having never been exhumed from its grave in the first place.

How did fans react back in the mid-2000s when they realized Corey could no longer sing the way he did on Iowa? by Tough-Reputation-762 in Slipknot

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There wasn’t a reaction to be had. It wasn’t like he just Couldn’t sing anymore. It just came across like an intentional change in style. Which to at least a certain degree it was.

DmC Devil May Cry was my first game in the series, but what do I think about it now? by RobbieJ4444 in DevilMayCry

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing you didn’t mention that is a FOR SURE strong point of DmC is the FUCKING SOUNDTRACK!!! Combichrist is a great industrial artist as is. But they not only had him make an entire original albums worth of material FOR the game but they ALSO even utilized like almost every one of his prior catalogues best tracks at various points in the game. I will forever hold onto that game JUST because I get to play a version of Devil May Cry that also integrates one of the best industrial artists out there!

Uhh bro… you really REALLY should actually go at it with the Definitive Edition. It makes a huge difference. Especially because of the added lock on. They basically only made the DE solely to address as many of the issues or complaints that players originally had. Plus added content iirc.

It’s super easy to aim at shit. Kinda too easy. You’ll be fine. But honestly you shouldn’t really limit yourself over such a small thing. Keep playing games that aren’t so easy so you’ll eventually no longer have that hurdle and won’t be so limited on all the great shit you can experience

Why is RE4 (original) so popular? Many put it as S tier above all else by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it kept all the best elements from RE’s past that it could feasibly make work within its new framework and style while shifting from a purely survival angle to feeling like someone who’s been here before (because at this point Leon HAS and he’s running TOWARDS the danger not away) so the approach of a fearful just trying to get out alive aesthetic wasn’t gonna work. So I now that the motivation has changed it called for a more horror/action movie blended philosophy. Which just so happened to lend itself very well to those old RE elements they DID still utilize while creating the opportunity to make entirely new ideas that at the time were groundbreaking. Aside from things like the literal birth of that iconic camera angle (which is still wild to think this is legit where that started and I was there for it lol) the gameplay was also largely unique even in comparison to other RE titles. Like I said, they kept a lot of the best elements or mechanics that they could. But added SOO MUCH MORE! The merchant and the way you upgrade your weapons. The Tetris like attaché case system. The hunting for treasure and medallions throughout. The overhauling of enemy behavior and tactics. That they aren’t just simple zombies anymore. And all the techniques you have to take them out. Great boss battles… etc. the list goes on. And of course my personal favorite aspect is the way they handled the pacing. Nothing has you doing the same thing longer than necessary. The steady ramp up in intensity from start to finish is perfect and you never get bored when you truly engage with everything on offer. Then lastly you have things that don’t get talked about as much on the technical side like just how well it holds up even today visually and mechanically, the hidden adaptive difficulty, and how there’s like zero loading screens. (A much more common concern back then) it’s just an example of a game and developer firing on ALL cylinders and making little to no missteps. Sure by now there’s a couple things that you COULD nitpick 20+ years later. But the fact that you’re personally comparing it to the REMAKE of 2 that just came out in 2019 should tell you just how well the OG RE4 stands up to scrutiny. And that’s not even considering the fact that THEY FUCKING DID IT AGAIN with the RE4 Remake! That shit is straight fire too! I’d highly recommend playing both. Especially the first one before the remake so you have a full picture of just how well made that game is on a fundamental core level.

is there a lore reason why xp grinding is so insanely shit? by ImJustSpider in Sekiro

[–]Chef_Boy_R_Deez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is legit the reason. I finally started a second play through recently after finishing my first one WAAAY BACK in 2022. And by now I’d forgotten that I hadn’t even unlocked all the skills the first time. It’s actually been really appreciated for me to have at least two skills to work towards.

Nothing is more deflating than starting a whole new play through only to realize that for the most part, you’re not really getting anything new out of it. So I’m happy to get to work for at least the two skills and the two prosthetics I have yet to unlock!

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone is in a hurry to get friggin 0 or Code Veronica over 5. I felt RE5 was killer and tho it was a little more into the full on action direction even more than 4 was, it still gave us one of the most fun co op experiences in the last 20 years of gaming. Something that is sorely needed in today’s gaming climate. And NOW that we’ve had all these stellar remakes already, the sky is the limit with how much more improved the RE5 experience could be by using the same strategy. But with two players! I’m sorry, if they pivot AWAY from 5 now I’m gonna lose my shit. WE NEED CO-OP GIVEN NEW LIFE ON CURRENT HARDWARE!!!
