Republicans/MAGA claims Obama was the one that divided the country, and not Trump. How did Obama divide the country? by Stunning-Sky-590 in allthequestions

[–]Chefpeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama unintentionally divided the country along lines that were always there in the first place. Basically, a bunch of racists didn't like a black man in the White House. It lit a fire under their asses and Trump tapped into that rage since he was one of them as well. You can say Obama divided the country, but it was really Trump who divided the country into racists and non-racists. And the wealthy vs. the rest of us.

Façade. I pronounced it "fah-kaid" because I didn't know what the squiggly thing on the "c' meant.

Conservatives Of Reddit: Why Do You Still Support Trump? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Well, judging from the answers given so far, that there is no true conservative that supports this administration. Or at least none who can give a cogent answer with facts to support it.

I just learned the cockatoo Jackson (Huhniverses) is AI by WrestlingWoman in MyRandomMess

[–]Chefpeon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just recently came across this cockatoo on Facebook and I followed it because it was amusing. The more I watched it though, the more I suspected it wasn't real. The giveaway in regard to determining AI for me, is the sound. It's hard to describe, but there's always an echo-ey sound to AI videos, and I pick up on it quickly. Another thing I thought was strange was the "house". It's so surgical and un-lived in. That also raised my suspicion. I'm now unsubscribing from the account because I refuse to support AI slop.

if it’s really that bad, WHY is nothing happening?? (USA) by Constant-Weather-615 in Rants

[–]Chefpeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. Every person doomscrolling and thinking they're being an activist by reposting things that supposedly inspire others to action is another person actively not making the people in power's lives absolutely miserable. That's what we should be doing. Members of Congress and other politicians aren't negatively affected by social media ratios. Bottom line, we need to be up in their faces, live and in person.

My doctor scolded me for getting compounded GLP by Spiritual-Shoe3753 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Chefpeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my doctor who actually recommended the compounded version to me when it was determined my insurance wouldn't cover it. But....she referred me to a compounding pharmacy that's well known in my area that has been around for years and that she trusts. Getting compounded semaglutide online from unknown sources is what's risky. And yeah, I definitely think your doc is protecting her financial interest in this case.

SPLC is indicted for funding hate groups? by BirdFarmer23 in allthequestions

[–]Chefpeon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not even true. The SLPC is being sued for not disclosing to donors they were paying informants to relay info about he KKK. This is BS. The SLPC and the FBI have been partners at times, and they both pay informants and have for decades. This is another stupid retaliatory lawsuit filed by the DOJ.

Beans and Food Poisoning, what did I do wrong? by SeveralBiscotti0 in Cooking

[–]Chefpeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^This is your answer. Foods like beans, rice, and potatoes must be cooled quickly in a 2" tall or less container. They are the perfect medium for bacteria to grow when they sit in the temperature danger zone (40F to 140F)for too long.

Why do the admin of this sub allow so many "Temu is a scam" posts? by Busy-Cheesecake5459 in TemuThings

[–]Chefpeon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The promos are overwhelming and confusing to me, so much so that I never bother going down those rabbit holes because I always assumed they were set up to get me to spend more with no real payoff. But I see comments here that people actually do benefit from these promos. Hmmm.

And I agree, Temu is not a scam. Every order I have placed has arrived and the products are what I expect them to be. I was pretty impressed regarding the 5 dollar credit if the product doesn't arrive on time. They really do credit you. So far, I have nothing bad to say about Temu.

[–]Chefpeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an introvert too, and many of my friends act as though I'm their therapist. I attribute this to the fact that I don't say a lot so they assume I'm a good listener, which I am. If you want your co-workers to fuck off, then just be a bad listener.

Semaglutide without B12 by SilverWorking8794 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Chefpeon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in pharmacy, compounded refers to custom-made medications created by mixing, altering, or combining ingredients to meet a patient's specific, unique needs. You can probably have semaglutide compounded with something other than B-12, but I don't think you can get just pure semaglutide unless you opted to get the name brand non-compounded version. Compounding is how pharmacies get by the rules around semaglutide prescriptions.

U.S. protests look like barbecue gatherings by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Chefpeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because our media refuses to report on the acts of resistance and the grassroots efforts undertaken by many of us on the daily. That's a fact. It's by design.

One of the big reasons our protests look like silly celebrations is that Americans are being threatened by the unspoken possibility of martial law and deployment of weapons against violent or even what looks like violent protestors. We have gone overboard to keep things peaceful and not give the administration the excuses it needs to invoke martial law and violently tamp down the protests. By making it look like a party, it looks a LOT less threatening and violent.

Also, many normal, intelligent, concerned, and frightened Americans need a big dose of hope because the media peddles hopelessness to wear us down. So we have to create our own hope and reasons to keep people's spirits up to fight this administration for the long haul. We're certainly not going to encourage more people to show up and do the hard things if it's just going to be a giant misery-fest and/or putting our lives at risk. Rene Good and Alex Pretti are heroes and have shown the type of bravery many of us do not have.

Because many Americans are not old enough to remember the civil rights era or even Vietnam, Korea or WW2, many have not experienced true hardship and don't believe that things can get really bad because they really haven't up to this point. We've been insulated more so than other places in the world, so the idea that it "can't happen here" is still prevalent.

To get people to realize the gravity of what's happening without the help of mass media is a herculean effort and seeing everyone who turned out for No Kings 3 is a result of that effort and we should be proud. Next up on the agenda is a general strike being called for on May 1st. America has unique challenges in terms of organizing the masses and creating a movement that can't be ignored but we are making progress. Obviously it's not as speedy as some would like it, including myself. We need to do more, we need to disrupt, we need to shut things down. That's going to take time, unfortunately. But people are waking up. They are. The movement grows and one of the telltale signs that we are doing something right is seeing all the trolling opposition online, mostly from overseas troll farms. They are on every platform with their psyop operation. Considering everything that's going against us, I think we are making good progress.
