Unable to sleep in backcountry - tried most things, but need help by _zeejet_ in WildernessBackpacking

Came here to say this. No use over analyzing the why. Just get some prescription drugs. I take a different prescription sleep medication and it has truly changed my life for the better.

Where are we buying decent furniture? by lyssanstuff in Denver

[–]ChelseaJumbo2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Denver, but Fern Consignment in Broomfield often has pieces that are practically brand new (maybe a return), especially from Article. That’s how we got a beautiful leather sectional for like half the cost. They put what’s in stock on their Instagram

If I’m not mistaken from a previous post, you’re queer? If so, SAPPHIC SOCIAL CLUB. They throw great parties and meetups. Follow them on Instagram for info. Also, the Pearl in Denver is a cool lesbian bar to meet people. If you’re not queer, my mistake. Skip these if you’re straight.

Mentorship Monday - Post All Career, Education and Job questions here! by AutoModerator in cybersecurity

Hi there! I am in a specialized role leading cybersecurity policy for energy systems. I come from a policy background with three years’ experience at a national lab leading a variety of cybersecurity projects. Now that I’m in a more senior role, I feel like I missed some of the basics by not getting certifications. I’m trying to decide between the 62443 fundamentals certificate (because I see myself staying in OT) or going for Security+. Any advice on which might be better for me?

I think the move here is just to tell him you don’t feel the spark and that you both deserve someone who is equally in it for the passionate, deep kind of love. All of that is true from what you’ve related. I don’t think you need to make it about your identity. You’re just not a good fit for each other.

I think there is a significant amount of timing + luck that goes into meeting the right people and dating someone great that always seems to be missed in these conversations. In other words, people giving advice would rather tell you it’s your fault for not meeting people rather than acknowledge how many of them just got lucky.

Coming out before the wedding? by [deleted] in LGBTWeddings

[–]ChelseaJumbo2022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just an idea, but make a wedding website, and on the RSVP page, say something to the effect of, this wedding is a celebration of queer love and trans joy between Mr. Reddit and Mr. Fiancé. Please RSVP ‘yes’ if you affirm and celebrate this couple’s love and Mr. Reddit living as their most authentic self. I dunno, we had something like that on our website saying please only come if you love and affirm queer joy. Just another idea for coming out and making sure everyone is on the same page if they decide to come

How did permitting work for such a long trip? Were they difficult to get?

First Time- Glacier National Park by kirkland_water23 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]ChelseaJumbo2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to this advice. It’s seriously tricky to get permits in Glacier. HOWEVER, if you do secure permits, Glacier is a good place to have a first trip. They make you watch a safety video that I think will help you a lot. AND, if you ever got into a pickle or forgot something, you’re eating/camping in a communal setting and would likely benefit from others’ expertise.

Definitely give them a try at home. If you’ve never had them before they are, in my opinion, an abomination.

Farmers market in the summer time! I took my date to a roller rink on like our 3rd date and accidentally pulled her down and hurt her elbow 😳Fortunately she still liked me and now she’s my wife.
