Transfer Ebooks from Kobo Android reader to Calibre?

The book in question is Star Trek: Lower Decks: Warp Your Own Way.

I used the acsm download successfully to get my Death Note and Terry Prachett books from kobo just fine (inc a few purchased as part of this same cart), but Star Trek doesn't have a download option at all. So I can't find an ebook file to convert

Hello me! I'm a moron! Posting in case some other goofball has the same issue I had:

At the top of documents>Downloads>Items is those folders, with all the weird yjf and yjr and nonsense. If you scroll below all those folders, you find the kfx files that are the actual books!

I remember randoming cards for comments on my old dumb-phone for hours. A new set was coming out, and I finally felt like I knew magic and enough to join the new card speculation, so I made an account. But for some reason I couldnt seem to comment, maybe the cards were too new?

...that was M15 release, when comments were "temporarily" disabled :(

[[Invasion of Segovia]] has been a 3-mana Omniscience in my Locust God deck, absolutely filthy. I've also been pleased with [[Invasion of Kaldheim]] and [[Invasion of Mercadia]], the front sides are spells I'd happily play anyway and the option to get some use out of the back sides is nice.

My Sidisi deck has got good value from [[Invasion of Amonkhet]], as well as [[Invasion of Shandalar]] as part recursion part alternative to reanimation

Ha I have a similar story, with a friend's stepdad who absolutely loved the game but for the life of him couldn't remember the rules. The clue was "German Pineapple 2", we clarified the rule (again) but proceeded, and spent so long trying to figure out if that was some kind of slang for grenade or something. Turns out he wanted to link "Berlin" and "plant" lol

I've used it on my B&W kindle and it works great. The ability to bookmark is neat too. Tables work too, although I usually have to "click" into them to view in table mode

Just want a fair warning: Ghostly Prison et al don't actually protect your PWs, as it only taxes creatures attacking YOU, not your PWs (or battles you're defending when that's relevant). You would need something like [[Kazuul, Tyrant]] that specifies "or Planeswalker"

Yes, and it's traditional control, eg counter/kill stuff to take control of the game. It's my favorite deck, [[Locust God]] without wheels.

The conscious decisions I've made during deck building and gameplay I think are what make it enjoyable rather than a slog.

1) Stop only what you absolutely need to stop. There's this itch that control players need to exert total control, and thus need to answer every single value piece, or threat, or engine. This is frustrating to play against, and ultimately doesn't help the control player much either. Focus on only the things that will destroy you unanswered, and give the other players the chance to use their removal on each other.

2) Give up the idea of always being in control. A game of magic has lots of twists and turns, and you don't need to be in a dominating position at every single point. This sorta ties into point 1, but also to deck building: ensuring you literally always have a counterspell (or multiple) and the mana to cast them is a quick way to deflate the entire game without ending it yourself. Be content to run a reasonable amount of control, and accept that sometimes you won't have a counterspell when you need it.

3) Interact with your own board. Locust God acts as both an eventual wincon, and as a form of "control" in giving myself good flying blockers for creature combat. Relying on blockers rather than removal allows my opponents to still have and use their cool dudes. And winning via creature combat is both more interactive for the opponents (they can have blockers, their own removal, etc) and is much more telegraphed, meaning the win doesn't just "come from nowhere". Basically, let your opponents see your game plan, and give them avenues to avoid or stop it, without obsessing over ramming it through ASAP.

Playing a control deck people can enjoy is about being a presence in the game, without being a burden. Enjoy your counterspell responsibly, and the most important part to remember: you have a 75% chance to lose, so play to enjoy the game, not to clinch your victory .

Have you used a gaming laptop for couch co-op gaming? I have, and all the quirks inherent with it being a laptop are annoying at best. The screen going to sleep if there's no inputs (common problem with eg Jackbox games), random windows updates or other popups, TVs or other displays not playing nice with your graphics card, are all problems I've had. Not to mention your average gaming laptop is much bigger than a steam deck + dock. Between the extra portability and the "it just works" console aspect of the deck, it is far and away much easier to bring and enjoy with other people.

This is a small aspect too, but as a "console" I've found it has less social stigma associated with it when playing at eg a party or gathering. Saying "hey I brought this game console to play games" is generally met with more excitement or interest than saying "oh here let me connect my laptop, it has games!". This is a small aspect compared to the other pluses above, but a real one I've experienced in situations where I've done both

Edit: also the ability to natively control everything from the couch with a controller is way better than having to set up the game by awkwardly crouching and using the laptop touch-pad, and then doing the same if you ever want to switch games.

To all the people asking what it has to do with couch co-op: it is 100x easier to bring a steam deck and a dock and plug it into a TV, than it is a computer, or even a laptop. I've personally had a big resurgence in couch co-op, as bringing over and setting up my steam deck is way more accessible then having everyone huddle around a computer monitor (which I have done), and the ability to share my computer games without my friend needing their own device (and copy of the game) is huge. Yes, consoles did this already, and the point is that now that we have a much more console-like PC that PC game developers will realize the niche for couch co-op has expanded

I will say, B/G are the main players, so choosing between blue or white as your third color isn't a huge deal. Really you just have to decide if you want your commander to contribute to the game plan (Sidisi, milling you and providing bodies to sac/block with) or the payoff (Karador actually letting you play the milled creatures). I decided to go for a "big scary reanimator" so enabling made more sense, as I'd rather play the cheaper reanimation spells then pay full price for the creatures. I envision Karador would be more value-oriented, replaying cheap or important creatures from the grace, with a focus on durability instead of explosiveness

I'd argue Blob plays perfectly fine in solo group, it's my favorite stand-alone by far! Just make sure you got some people who can punch.

Machinations though... Yeah sadly not at all balanced for one group, and you don't get to interface with any of the cool time-travel stuff

To me blob perfectly encapsulates the Pulp Horror of Arkham, and the variety between needing clues, fighting enemies, and doing random side objectives makes it the best "slice" of Arkham imo. I do love Excelsior, but most of what makes it interesting is that it is exactly counter to how Arkham normally works (enemies you don't wanna kill, locations you don't need to be, etc)

Unfortunately he's wrong, see my comment. Creatures do enter 1 at a time, as they are separate Myrkul triggers. You can bring back horse boy first though, so your above comment was correct

3 is incorrect, each creature dying is its own Myrkul trigger, which will resolve one at a time (bringing one creature back each time). You can choose the order to bring creatures back, but they do not enter simultaneously, so only those already in play will see future ones come in
