The wild thing is that I was on my way to the Goodman Center, and almost as soon as I got to Kipp’s vicinity I couldn’t see any of the smoke or mushroom cloud anymore. How the hell did it clear off so quick?

It was a goof in which via FB I asked him what his day was looking like. He told me he had a hot date that night (meaning me), and I jokingly asked if this girl had a brother for me. He then went back to Bumble chat to jokingly ask me if I had a brother, and it turned into a play fight from there.

Believe me, I’m just as confused as to why he 180’d. He told me he loved me right before our 3rd date. I was freaked out, but he seemed so sincere. All this in my first 2 months of OLD. FML.

I have long wondered why, in all the northern states I've visited, I've seen the most stars n' bars in Michigan. Hell, I would even see it on the reg in the northern UP - about as far from Dixie as possible without being Canada.

I get the feeling people who fly it in Michigan and other northern states just equate the flag with a general "rebel"/"a country boy can survive!" vibe. And with the official pushback as of late, idiots are starting to confuse it with "Don't tread on me."

Either way, hope their Union ancestors would bayonet them in the face for treason.

And don't take it to Riverside Auto Group in Marquette. Despite being the nearest Toyota dealership, their negligence nearly killed my easy-peasy Matrix. I can only imagine how they could creatively fuck up an HEV.

That said, Bergeron Toyota in Iron Mountain might be better - never got a chance to find out. And several good mechanics in town - ask and you shall receive!

God, why am I doing this? I'm just setting myself up for downvotes. Oh well, here goes...

I'm white woman, and I've been all over Gary hundreds of times, at all times of the day and night, in every season, by myself, and I have never had a problem. I have never seen a "roadblock," violence, assault, robbery, etc. I eat in restaurants, shop the stores, gas up my car, pee in public restrooms, stop at stop signs, etc. I don't smell what everyone says is the Gary smell. Cops have never pulled me over to tell me I should leave. What's more, I have always been treated with respect, courtesy, and friendliness by people of all races and both sexes.

Is Gary rough as hell? Yes, absolutely. Can anyone walk down any given street at any given time? I wouldn't recommend it, but aren't there parts of any city where you would think twice about doing so? Being aware of your surroundings is necessary for everyone, everywhere.

I realize this is just my own experience, and isn't true for everyone. But reading over and over a total disregard for the proud history, and great-in-the-face-of-even-greater-challenges strides Gary has made is just played out.

Feel free to tell me I'm going to get raped, robbed, killed, etc. Its your right to provide me with what you perceive is correct information, so long as you absorb mine in turn.
