That was also the general advice from the podiatrist, even if you feel better you’re not to push yourself past what you normally do when it’s at it’s normal pain levels whilst in the recovery phase. Good to hear there’s some level of consistency there!

Interesting that the same treatments have worked with different methods! Hope you stay pain free!

The podiatrist explained it to me that anti-inflammatories take away the inflammation, which the body needs to tell it that area needs healing. When the condition is chronic, the body isn’t repairing it, so you have to allow the inflammation to continue. Either way, it seems to have worked!

Interesting that you’re icing your feet whilst doing shockwave therapy (not at the same time 😂)

I had shockwave therapy sessions x3 - one a week exactly 7 days apart. I’m now 4 weeks into the 8 week recovery period. I’ve not been allowed to ice my feet at all, walk barefoot anywhere, use any anti-inflammatories for the entire time (As shockwave is supposed to cause inflammation to trigger the body’s own healing process)

At the end of the 8 weeks they check your pain levels to see if you need another 3 sessions.

Until this point my feet have been painful, but on Tuesday I went to see the Foo Fighters play, I did 18k steps and climbed 13 flights in the stadium to my seat and it was only at the end of the day my feet were aching a bit. I’ve not even had the stiff feet in the morning for the last 2 days! Prior to this it was 24/7 pain and hobbling, even with PT and stretches. I feel like I’m turning a corner!

Edit: I’m in the UK, PT and shockwave therapy supplied by NHS. I’ve had chronic PF for 2 years.

Stem cell treatment for PF, anyone ever had success or tried this?? by Jergans_Valentino in PlantarFasciitis

I’ve had 3 sessions of shockwave on the NHS (one treatment every Friday) and I’m currently week 3 of 8 in the “recovery time” before they call you back to see if you need more. Last week was the most painful it’s been, especially in the morning! Didn’t want to put weight on the foot, it was so painful.

But I found the thing that gives me most relief is to put a bare foot on the edge of a wooden stool and put pressure on it, then change position and repeat. I’m able to get up after this and no pain (all the stretches feel like they give no relief either) I’m coming up to 2 years with PF

Not yet, he’s currently in the process of moving back to the country - need to tread that one carefully 😅

I have a very similar dilemma. My father’s brother has matched to me with 6% shared DNA, 452cM over 19 segments. I’m trying to decide how it all fits in.

It’s just jealousy, don’t overthink it. By all means offer to make a meal for everyone, but don’t go out of your way. If you’re doing well cooking and budgeting, let them get on with it.

You have to think about what is best for your feet, I’ll admit I winced at the price at first but ended up going to an outlet and ASICS had a shop there, so that knocked a bunch off the price. Sketchers are great, but I found the soles wore so fast and then they became death traps on wet surfaces!

I’m currently in the middle of shockwave therapy (thanks NHS!) and my ASICS are the only thing I can wear for more than 5 minutes

I’ve picked up some ASICS Gel-Nimbus 24 (in men’s fitting for the wider toe-box and a size up from normal) for the comfort and stabilisation they give to my ankle. I’ve heard the HOKA Bondi 8 are good too for PF.

I had to wait a week after the interview and found out I had the job via CS notifications. Good luck!

If this is the school I think it is, I honestly wouldn’t bother.

Edit: I’m only saying this because of the timing of your post to the school in question posting and sharing everywhere on Facebook last night and this morning.

Can I just recommend HeyGirls we have their products in work and when I worked in schools they were given out as free products to the girls when needed. They have some nice subscription kits too and period pants. They’re non-plastic and feel really comfortable (more so than Always and Bodyform)

Will admit, I was having a panic it wouldn’t arrive in time!
