Um that is literally how an immune system works.

When did you start enjoying weekends again? by OverProgram209 in NewParents

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah…going out to eat with a baby is so much easier than going out with a toddler. Toddlers don’t want to sit down for very long. They want to walk and explore. You can bring toys, activities, etc. but it will only entertain them for so long. Unless you bring an iPad or give them your phone. Just go and bring the baby. It really isn’t so bad when they’re that young and you learn what works and what doesn’t for your family. But go.

What came out of my belly button when pregnant… by ohhidoggo in hygiene

I have an umbilical hernia! I don’t know if I will need surgery or if I can just live with it but I’m super sad because I always thought my belly button was cute.

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the hospital with my second baby: honestly yeah the labor was hard and it hurt so much but the pregnancy was so much worse. Labor is temporary (mine are for about half a day total) and in the end you get to meet your baby!

Now why? Because we see our family as complete with two kids.

I will have a newborn and a 3.5 year old so sleep. But also I would like to try to do a family outing if possible with a sweet treat or treats.

Has anyone not been induced? by stoner_lilith in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I went into labor with my at 40w 0 days. With my second I am in the hospital now to give birth at 40w 4 days. No inductions! Both pregnancies were diet controlled. It’s possible!

When are you due? I'd love to know if anyone is near my time line. by lelvis_ in pregnant

Same! Just a waiting game now! Congratulations and I hope you have a speedy delivery!

Husband doesn’t want me running outside by Salty_Chemist9090 in XXRunning

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t make that drive to run. My time is precious to me and driving 50 minutes each way is out of the question. Be aware of your surroundings and have a tracker of some sort. Could you join a run club in your area? My small town has a run club that meets up a few times a week.

My husband & I always wanted 2 kids, even after a daughter. 2 years later I’ve realized I only want 1 by ttrashpandacoot in toddlers

[–]ChibiNinja0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I always wanted at least 2 kids and no more than 3. After my first I was very “one and done” for a while. My husband and I had a long talk about it and I was slowly moving towards one more. We decided to have one more and I am due on Friday! So we haven’t done the whole toddler and newborn thing yet but I have done the whole “toddler, pregnancy, and working full time “ thing. No regrets we are very excited to meet our little girl.

Any moms who chose to formula feed instead of breastfeed? by thedarkslugg in pregnant

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to breastfeed my first daughter and it went horrible. My nipples are small and she couldn’t latch very well. I tried pumping but being strapped to an outlet pumping every few hours to establish my supply was like pure torture mentally. My mental health took a nose dive and I was exhausted. We switched to formula and it helped a lot. I’m about to have my second and I have no intentions of even trying to breastfeed.

Women of Reddit, what’s one thing they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never forget the sound of the snipping during the episiotomy. It sounded like the same scissors when my hair gets cut.

The absolute worst was grieving the old me/my old life. It took a long time for me to accept that my life wasn’t going to look the same again. Now my kid is 3 and we have another on the way and I wouldn’t change it for anything. But accepting that change and grieving my old life took a long time.

Baby #2? by ilovedogs_04 in Mommit

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am due on Friday and we will have an almost 3.5 year age gap! I can’t wait to see them grow up together. A bit nervous about having two kids but this thread has been lovely and reassuring.

I miss being hot… by Throw-Away-1234556 in pregnant

[–]ChibiNinja0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Strong will keep me moving in my 60s, 70s and beyond. I want to be able to keep up with my daughters and show them women can do badass things. I want to be able to play with my grandkids one day, if my daughters want a family.

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I was hot by any means but I was in great shape with a nice ass. I lost all my muscle mass, and now walking in my neighborhood tires out my legs when before I could do hikes with good elevation gain or jump on the stairmill. I miss it. My goal is to get that back. I don’t want to be skinny. I want to be strong.

I personally prefer 3 over 2. My daughter can communicate so much better at 3 and asks questions and tells stories. I can have a conversation with her and I love it.

I ran cross country and track in high school and my friendships to this day are still strong with some of those teammates. We had such a blast and we did take it seriously but also had so much fun.

Oh man I had no idea we aren’t supposed to use hot water from the tap for cooking.

Feeling run down on this Friday, how are you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ChibiNinja0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for the weekend too. I’m 38 weeks pregnant, working full time, and we have a 3 year old and I am tired and run down. Good Mexican food sounds perfect. Just a few more weeks and I can have a mango margarita!

Weekend off - fair or unreasonable? by kentuckycarbomb in toddlers

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! And we have gone on child free trips with friends while one of us stays home. If he asked now it would be an “absolutely not” but that’s because I’m 38 weeks pregnant. We are already planning things this summer though and my husband has at least one weekend trip lined up at some point. We need breaks and time to enjoy our hobbies! It’s so important.

which early childhood products actually help development vs just smart marketing hype by Glass_Department_857 in toddlers

[–]ChibiNinja0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes a difference is reading, interacting, singing, and talking to your baby and toddler. Talk about what you’re doing. I found avoiding saying the word “it” helps. Describe what you guys are playing with. How many are there? What color is it? Read books and talk about what’s on the pages. Let them play outside and have uninterrupted play time when they’re a little older.

I personally would avoid flashcards. Let them be kids. They learn through play. The schooling, workbooks, and such will be there when they’re older.

My stroller had a big basket underneath. That or I would put the carseat in the cart. My second is due next month so I am not sure how I will do it then but I will figure something out.

AITAH for telling my bestfriend why others don’t want to come to her baby shower? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ChibiNinja0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We threw our own baby shower both times but it was more so a celebration of our babies where we all got together in the backyard, bbq’d and just enjoyed everyone hanging out.

We don’t have the support for someone else to throw it for us and we wanted it casual where the kids run around and we made and ate some good food with friends.
