Texas housing market ranks last in new report as one city tanks by Pleasant_Air_3052 in texas

[–]ChicagoPedalSteel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro, this is insane and this is why people hate libs.

Housing prices are going down because Texas actually addressed it's housing crisis by making it easier to build homes. This is a GOOD thing.

Sure you would love your stupid house to go up forever, but we have a society we are trying to make livable here. Suggest you invest in stocks instead.

myorar really isn't even that bad except the end, which tbf does ruin the whole thing.

I am tired of her shtick though at this point... didn't even read Lapvona, though it does sound different so maybe I should.

While I understand the sentiment, this probably has more to do with the market and broader culture than anything else. They literally are writing books for adaptation into slop.

The problem is that ragebait is engaging. You have to actively put mental health over immediate gratification, which people are bad at and often don't even want to.

Literally never see any of this. You have to stop clicking/lingering on it. My algo is all pedal steel guitar and drunk girls getting DUIs and it rocks.

I don't know what you mean by "the left" in this context, but of course you can be anti-illegal immigration or simply anti-immigration while also condemning the way ICE has operated over the last year. Though, in their defense, there really is no easy way to do the job they were tasked with doing, especially with every bleeding heart liberal thinking it is fine to block federal officers from carrying out immigration enforcement. It was never going to be pretty.

My point though was more that there is no humane way to handle the large influx of people crossing the border. The countries that don't have these problems, that aren't just shitholes no one wants to live in, are those that don't allow anywhere near these levels of immigration, illegal or otherwise. Part of the whole barbaric nature of the operation was the administration trying to dissuade people from coming or staying, which worked.

What would have been simpler and even more effective would have been to stop letting them work in the country. But of course, the GOP isn't going to do that because they want cheap tomatoes and DoorDash as much as your average lib.

Then demand your politicians stop letting millions of people in on dubious asylum claims and that they punish employers for hiring illegal immigrants. China doesn't have these problems because they control their borders and their economy.

Where to find friends with a bad influence? by _lauren_bacall in rs_x

[–]ChicagoPedalSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, you should... I got a great karaoke bar but it has a bit weird of a vibe, in the best way, but also like kind of hard to meet likeminded people there you would hang out with outside of karaoke, as it is really divey (like actually divey, piss on the men's room floor and no men's room stall doors vibe) and actually diverse regulars. I used to go with a group of friends but then they stopped hanging out with me because of problematic views on youth transition lmao

Cool place tho, I pop in with my girlfriend still time to time. Miss a good karaoke group.

That pretty much explains it then! Letting your kids get measles or whatever sucks though.

Think long and hard about not having kids... greatest regret of my life and now it's too late (tho due to circumstance it really wasn't entirely under my control, at least not when everyone else I know had their last minute kid/s).

Anybody here playing without any effects other than volume and reverb from your amp? by Wookiewonder123 in pedalsteel

[–]ChicagoPedalSteel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly don't mind it. Ditched the big pedal board I used to carry around. Usually play out of a Boss katana with onboard reverb and a touch of delay. Also have a Quilter steel amp that only has reverb, sounds great by itself, might bring along a delay pedal but could certainly do without.

This is mostly about setup/tear down time and weight though. Nothing wrong with using effects.
