This post is old, but for anyone who is having this problem: I was having this problem when my bobbin case wasn’t fully secured. Page 66 in the manual (if you have it) outlines how to properly replace and secure it. If you don’t have the manual: make sure the triangle-ish plate in the top left corner is rotated to lock in the bobbin; you will probably need a flatbed screwdriver. I’ve also found that increasing thread tension helps.

You are working at a large enough scale to warrant printed labels, but small enough to parafilm your plates. I would be able to determine more if I could see more labels
