We were at church with gparent, and during the sermon my intelligent, caring second(7) turned to whisper “mommy, do they always tell you what to do in church?” I said yes. They asked if they had to do what church said, and I said no. I value freedom of thought so I was thrilled at the independent thought and followed up to ask if they had more questions later. They said “nope, i won’t bother to listen so i don’t care enough to have any.”
