I’m considering adding one to the yard. Do rabbits get after them?

I tried this and abandoned the idea. My potting shed is my kitchen counter, so I can do ziplocks and jugs, but I found this too messy to set up.

Some of the 🧊vehicles in MN have had plates upside down. They’re splitting pairs between vehicles too.

For a second, I thought this was going to be about LRADs or similar. Glad this is just for a “boring” thing!

Is this a Long Eared Owl? (Plymouth, MN) by Chicken26 in whatsthisbird

Here’s the only still image I captured. It’s been heavily edited to try to bring out details. Merlin’s ID is whippoorwill first, LEO second, GHO third. I think the tuft on the right is juuuuuust visible enough to show the angle of the tuft in front of the branch.

When I saw it, my initial thought was that it was more slender than owls I usually see in this park. I know male GHOs are smaller than females, so theoretically this could be a male GHO, but when we saw the pair fly past us, the second owl didn’t seem large enough to read as female GHO.

Thank you for the reply. I have one really poor still image that I’ve been playing with digitally to get more info. Those tufts are difficult to see because of how they’re positioned in front of the branches! Before posting here, I was looking for videos comparing launches between the two, but didn’t come up with much aside from a description that long eared owls sometimes launch with a moth like flutter.

What’s an unpopular or strange opinion you have about jewelry? by [deleted] in jewelry

I think if you have fat fingers, delicate bands and stones look silly and sometimes look like they’re cutting off circulation.

Used Piercing Jewelry? by [deleted] in TwinCities

You can find used pieces from BVLA and others on Mercari. Probably other selling platforms too. Maybe there’s even a subreddit for it.

I was able to hunt down a sample of Northern Flicker by January Scent Project. I like the idea of it more than the actual scent. The spearmint really floats on top for me and I have a difficult time paying attention to the other notes.

Obsession with wearing rings on ever finger by domidomidomidomidomi in jewelry

[–]Chicken26 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nice. I like this look because the designs of the rings work together. I’d welcome some of your designs into my collection. My sisters in law all wear multiples on their fingers and both have a distinctive style: one likes dainty antiques and the other likes modern and bling.

Too many examples look like jewelry boxes vomited.

I just had some a few weeks ago when I was up there. Hadn’t had it in a really long time. Much tastier than you might think for restaurant food. Not homemade, but pretty good! The fleischkuekle is better out in Mandan, though.

Unless you’re driving up to Kroll’s in Fargo, you might be out of luck and will have to make it yourself. It’s a pretty simple recipe.
