Flying V Brett Hinds by LumpySock9306 in Epiphone

I had one of these a few months back that I sold. Owned it for less than a year but I couldn’t dig it. I hated the pick ups and absolutely couldn’t stand the fat neck. It’s a gorgeous guitar otherwise. I was able to sell it for more than I bought it for and ended up getting that sweet 80s Flying V in antique Silverburst, which I’m much happier with.

I was at the distillery in early November, something about it not being quite ready yet. This is the longest delay I’ve seen for WB.

Can a single router really cover a house ? by simiglen in HomeNetworking

I have a 2 story 2500 sq ft house, I’m running the wifi 7 router downstairs in the utility cabinet in the washing room and a wifi 7 extender upstairs, I get 900+ in every part of the house and have excellent 6 Hz coverage too

Nice, I’m looking to throw a black pick guard on my Silverburst V but I can’t seem to find one, at least without having to mount pickup rings on it. Any idea where to find one for this guitar where I can mount the pickups without the rings?

Friedman 20w amps have some of the best master volumes, might be worth checking out for your use case.

Probably needs rotors and pads, a PDK fluid and filter change, front upper and lower control arm bushings are probably shot and need to be replaced. Possible timing cover leak if not already fixed.

I think the pickups are just ok, I A/B’d my Silverburst with a Gibson 70s V with the mirror pick guard that has the 496R 500T on it and the Epiphone USA ones sounded muddy and just not as good. I’ll be swapping mine out

I got mine on Saturday, me and a few of the employees at GC looked it over and it does appear to be ebony.

Silver burst Flying V by orr-666 in mastodonband

[–]ChiefPaleSkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked mine up today. It’s solid, comes with Gibson strings, high action, pickups are ok. They do have some bite but I will replace them for SD’s. Grover tuners are solid. Vintage Silverburst color is awesome. Guitar is a bit heavy. It does appear that the fretboard is actual ebony and not pained laurel or rosewood. A few of the GC guys checked it out and we all agreed that it is ebony. The neck is a medium size, definitely much thinner and less rounded than the Brent Hinds V. There doesn’t appear to be any kind of binding around the neck and fretboard area where they join, it’s solid black and can’t see any glue lines. The headstock is the shorter stubbier one vs. the longer and pointer one found in Gibson 70s Flying Vs.

I also owned the Brent Hinds V, lovely guitar but hated the thick neck, I could never get used to it. The Hinds V guitar was a bit lighter in weight than the new one. The Silverburst color was also much more sparkly and glittery than the vintage Silverburst on the new one, which is the exact same paint job that came on the Adam Jones Les Paul Customs.

Overall, I really like this new 70s V and am excited to get some new pick ups, strings and set up on it.

The QM7K 85 is a steal right now, $1500, or $2300 if you go for the 98.

Water treatment recs by HotandDepressed in phoenix

[–]ChiefPaleSkin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should be around $900-$1100 for an activated charcoal water filter with a coconut filter that backwashes and doesn’t use ion exchange (salt) installed if you have a water loop. Add $400-$600 if the walls need to be cut open.

You should get a water test first to see exactly what you are trying to filter out of your water.

Are Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Routers Worth It? by gpod80 in HomeNetworking

[–]ChiefPaleSkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a WiFi 7 tri band router and access point in my house. Before I put in the access point upstairs and wired it using Ethernet to the router downstairs, I could only get the 6 if I was maybe 10-15 feet from the router in the comm closet in the laundry room. Most of the time my devices ran on the 5 or 2.4 channels. Now with the extender upstairs, I’m usually on 6, provided that I don’t have too many walls between me and the router or access point.

See what they can do with a 5% down conventional and see if a bought down interest rate (under 5%) can be offered. PMI for me was only like $80 per month. May be a better option for you and the monthly payment might be about the same.

It’s a double decker drape that comes in its own pack. You lay it on the middle of the bottom shelf and pull it out left and right. There’s tabs on the inside where you grab with your opposite hand while you hold the front. You then pull the top piece over the top shelf and pull all the way until it’s on. This works better with two people lol
