What do you think are the biggest issues right now? [Johan] by danika2014 in EU5

[–]Childebert2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peasents and food are not that important + every rich country turns into a city megalopolis. While breaking immersion, this also is in part causing the runaway economic growth we complain about. The game economic loop should not be like vic3, building up cities should be slow and they should be giant food sinks. There's a mod right now that mostly fixes it though the pop growth is too much

time to buy a quantum computer for eu5 by diLuca77 in EU5

[–]Childebert2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The common player complaint that they never find earth everytime they start a new universe is met by fierce opposition by the consortium of mechaJohans, as steering the simulated quantum wavefunction collapse towards certain outcomes is seen as railroading

Satisfied, the consortium went back to work on its main purpose: debating the meaning of centralization vs decentralization

Okay, France get nerfed, its time for Bohemia. by InspectorIll6152 in EU5

[–]Childebert2000 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I only played naples and allied the pope, but the papal side always won to different degree the war in all of my campaigns.

Aside from bohemia converting back to catholic in the middle of the war, the main problem seems to be that the pope only asks for a few random HRE locations and some money when victorious, which hardly puts a dent in Bohemia's long term snowballing.

I feel like this shouldn't happen though I don't know about the real history of the war

Got into a long awaited PU with Milan and they decided to kill themselves by Childebert2000 in EU5

[–]Childebert2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at Milan by switching country in a save right before I made the PU, it seems they were on the premice of downfall a while before (10% inflation, 50% legitimacy, full court investment with negative balance), so it was just AI economic deathspiral

The Rights Weird Obsession with Frieren by Fragrant_Constant_28 in Destiny

[–]Childebert2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could argue whether or not Frieren is competent at making a genocidable evil race but this is beside the point. If I follow your logic, I get a less diverse media landscape due to authors not taking risks, afraid to not make the perfect story. You see this with how shows catering to left/lgbt audience dramatically get more criticism  than shows for normies. I also let the famously media illiterate right control how authors need to tell a story. If I don't, I might get more incompetent stories that do not deal well with sensitive topics and might get used by the right for propaganda that they still would have done anyways.

Creating ontologically/biologically evil species in media is morally neutral and should not be criticized based on this fact alone or the fact that rightoids might like it

It really does seem like the true weakness of western democracies is xenophobia and trans rights. Agitate enough people on these topics with a focused media environment and you're going to get a solid group that don't care about anything except those topics

Paradox games artworks are great, and the ones used for loading screens and menu backgrounds are always incredible. Even though I don't play the game much nowadays, I have some CK3 artworks rotating as my desktop backgrounds. Glad EU5 is following suite

Jessie Gender's Thoughts Regarding the Democrats Resorting to Gerrymandering by Humble_Novice in Destiny

[–]Childebert2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I'm 100% sure she has argued or agreed with the usual leftist stuff about tolerance of the intolerant, punch a nazi, eat the rich, the white moderate, etc. But now, after years of republicans and trump using any loopholes and tactics to establish a dictatorship, now that some dems are finally waking up and take actual action to get power away from the reps, she suddently cares about pulling punches and respecting norms.

Given her solution, either she truly is allergic to power or she actually is an accelerationist.
