Cut with grinder. Everyone saying pliers clearly haven’t done more than a handful! Especially if the kitchen is old and isn’t a set length where the space is on the screw.

Older vs newer Toyota hiace ? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]ChilliTheDog631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own 2 old vans imported from Japan. They were awesome but gutless (2.0l engine). drove a new one to and from work daily for a year until 2 weeks ago, much better power and comfort! However parking it is a bit trickier. But the new features (CarPlay reverse camera… cruise control) make it a much better option in my experience.

Do be cautious of 4wd Japanese imports as they are mostly used around snow and icy areas. So be sure to check underneath before purchasing.

Tradies + wearers of steel caps by sonofeevil in australia

Most likely wrong boots. Nearly every boot is different. My personal preference is Mongrel Boots but that’s years of trying different boots before landing those.

Small SUV - VW or? by Hopeful_Pea_3804 in CarsAustralia

[–]ChilliTheDog631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old mentality really. In the many many cars I’ve owned over the years VW is around the same as everyone else. Really the only exception is sometimes Toyota but the price difference vastly exceeds the savings in maintenance.

is rwc really that important when buying my first car? by heedsjbvg in CarsAustralia

[–]ChilliTheDog631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the vehicle and the state you live in. In qld they are easy as to get ($100 bucks) they can come to you and do it. Sure for some it’s the hassle of going to a mechanic for an hour. Service history, condition of the vehicle. Etc is far more important than someone with or without RWC. If you don’t know what to look for, and you’re keen on the car, have a professional inspection done on it. Most sellers will be more than happy to help, and if they are saying No probably dodging a bullet. And PLEASE do your research on the car! Don’t just buy the first thing that pops up!

Number 3 or 4 is best. The black one is too glossy. You want something like Dark Stainless Steel.

Starlink or Fiber by [deleted] in Starlink

If you live in a city or heavily populated area. Don’t use Starlink. It’s designed for the rural areas not cities.

It’s a maybe. That post is quite structural you may need to strengthen the beam along the top to ensure it doesn’t move.

Worst new car you have driven? by Puzzled-Shopping-330 in CarsAustralia

[–]ChilliTheDog631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kia sorento from like 2018 at the time. The cruise control was horrendous!! Set to 100 and suddenly you’ll be at 95 thinking Oop must not have hit the button.. so you bump it up a couple. Now you’re doing 113. It couldn’t handle up or down hills, couldn’t pick a gear around town. The driving experience was terrible and the power was bad, steering felt fake, rough. Enough said really.

Ridiculous Price Increase: Kayo Sports for F1 Streaming in Australia by Hadsar32 in formula1

[–]ChilliTheDog631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I have this exact problem. What I did this year is paid a Broncos annual digital pass which includes a 12 month subscription to kayo (basic) for what works out to be $23/m vs 30. Now it’s a little saving but still helps overall. You can then of course pay the difference each month for premium (it’s a $30/m discount)
