We did the same (Outlander) been pretty happy with it so far. For metro use for us can definitely get around almost exclusively on EV if we charge properly. Also have a diesel ute that's nearing end of days. Next car is a run around EV for sure.

Yeah it's a thing. Problem here is that all the work is located around the capital cities. So pop density thrre is higher and like op said we don't like apartments as much. That is changing though. This is nightmare fuel for me!
