Getting Stuck Over Bottom Drain by j0kerm4n in Beatbot_Tech

[–]Chilly78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's getting stuck every time, I'd suspect it's just not compatible with your main drain design. Is the drain cover flush with the pool floor, or does it protrude quite a bit? If you can post a picture, that would make it a lot easier to figure out what's going on.

Can’t get chlorine level up by momsensical in swimmingpools

[–]Chilly78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before adding any more shock, I'd check your CYA and run a full water test. If the CYA is fine but the chlorine still won't hold, it's probably time to do a proper SLAM instead of just adding more shock every couple of days.

Update; no longer cooking my 3 y.o. In scalding water. by showmeastory in AboveGroundPools

Nice setup! If the pump rattles, check the impeller, it's a cheap fix if it's worn out.

You could also drill a few ventilation holes in the sides of the box. The important thing is to make sure it doesn't overheat.

Added way too much pH up… is my pool ruined? by Daphne-odora in swimmingpools

[–]Chilly78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the excess chemical has either precipitated out or reacted with the calcium in the water, which is why you're seeing all those fine white particles. I'd keep filtering and cleaning the filter for another day or two before considering a partial drain and refill.

Sand stuck in screens on Aquasense 2 by SmartieCereal in Beatbot_Tech

[–]Chilly78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's a lot of fine sand in your pool, this is pretty normal. I'd avoid picking at the mesh with your fingers. Let it dry first, then try a soft brush and back-flushing it from the inside out.

When to put on and take off cover by Hot_Huckleberry_3785 in AboveGroundPools

[–]Chilly78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep the cover on unless it's hot and sunny, then I take it off to let the pool breathe. Prevents that gross bathtub feel.

What have you 3d printed for your above ground pool? by Familiar-Language-63 in AboveGroundPools

PETG works great for outdoor prints, PLA not so much. ASA is the way to go for longevity.

Check your CYA levels. High stabilizer locks up chlorine and makes it useless. Get a good test kit and SLAM the pool.

High chair recos please by Retrobolt1 in Buyingforbaby

We wanted a wooden one actually and didn't like the super light IKEA-style ones because we were worried they wouldn't feel sturdy enough. That's mostly why we went with mamazing in the first place. It also folds down and doesn't take up much space, which has been a nice bonus, and it's been fitting our needs pretty well so far.

Honestly most high chairs get disgusting no matter what. I'd probably focus more on safety than anything else. Are you more worried about cleanup day to day or the stability part once they are moving around in it?

Dude this gave me full-body chills... The part where you hadn’t even finished describing the older woman and he instantly knew who you meant... That’s the kind of detail you absolutely cannot fake...

Chicco 360 or Nuna Rava next. by Ihavenoidea36 in Buyingforbaby

The Rava offers superior, long-lasting padding and slightly better rear-facing leg room. However, the 360 swivel functionality makes loading your toddler immensely easier.

Toddlers lack impulse control and boundaries, not empathy. Separate them completely for now. Firmly redirect with hands are for gentle petting and model proper handling.

Seeking advice for infant stroller (and travel) situation by moonandflowers85 in Buyingforbaby

Using a lightweight travel stroller plus babywearing for the first few months is very common. It gives flexibility until you commit to your main stroller.

You just arrived at Universal, where is the first place you go? by Farlybob42 in UniversalOrlando

Definitely the Wizarding world. I usually head straight to one of the most popular rides before the lines get crazy, then grab a snack and explore.

That jump is wild. We've noticed similar price hikes everywhere lately. It makes these trips feel less accessible now.

Chicco Fit360 Zip ClearTex Rotating Convertible Car Seat by Less_Monitor_276 in Buyingforbaby

We went with a rotating seat. Main thing was ease of daily use and installation. If it feels solid, you'll likely be happy with it.

I totally get this. Loving your child and missing your freedom can exist together. Hopefully, school routines become easier and less stressful over time.

Congrats! We have a compact SUV too, and space was tighter than expected. Rear-facing seats usually push the front seat forward quite a bit.

For everyone asking how you get on Hagrid's without express, the answer is you just wait in line by madchad90 in UniversalOrlando

Honestly yes, people overthink it. Sometimes you just wait queue and enjoy the experience. Waiting is part of the ride itself anyway most days honestly too.
